The PBR MN Prospect ID- West Fargo event took place on Sunday, August 11, 2019. The event was held at Young Field in West Fargo, ND. The event featured prospects from the 2020 through 2023 grad classes; and included many breakout performances from this year's participants. Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance. Thank you to the players, parents, my staff; along with the staff from West Fargo Legion for such a great event.

outfieldER EVALUATIONS (ALPHA)

Chase Burke, OF/C, Minot (ND), 2021
5-foot-7, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  6.95 runner.  Slightly open balanced stance with high handset.  Leg lift trigger and hand load down.  Aggressive swing and flashed bat speed.  Flat swing plane.  Mid/pull approach with ground ball and line drive contact.  Average contact and flash some strength in barrel.  85 mph exit velocity.  OF- Good feet and stays behind ball well.  Above average glove and field ball clean.  84 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.  C- Athletic.  One knee stance.  Average glove and shows ability to hold pitches.  Can be slow to block.  Stays low through release with average exchange.  Longer footwork.  2.00-2.01 pop times.  79 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy. 

Joseph Grabanski, 1B/OF, Grand Forks Central (ND), 2020
6-foot, 245-pound right-handed hitting first baseman.   7.39 runner.  Open balanced stance.  Knee to knee load and hand load back.  Bigger aggressive swing.  Flat swing plane.  Mid/pull approach with line drive and fly ball contact.  Solid contact and flashed pull pop with strength in barrel.  98 mph exit velocity.  OF- Good feet to field and into release.  Clean glove and fields through ball.  Longer arm action.  74 mph arm strength with average carry and good accuracy.  IF- Good feet and works around ball to field.  Average glove and makes routine play.  72 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.

Mason Hoff, OF, West Fargo (ND), 2020
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  7.21 runner.  Narrow and upright stance.  High handset to start.  Leg lift and hand load down.  Arm bar at times.  Swing plane works down to contact with short finish.  Mid/pull approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  Inconsistent contact with 81 mph exit velocity.  OF- Aggressive to field and longer feet to release.  Glove is stiff and makes routine play.  Longer two-part arm action.  71 mph arm strength with below average carry and average accuracy. 

Jack Jahnke, LHP/OF, Grand Forks Central (ND), 2022
5-foot-10, 152-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player.  7.72 runner.  Open stance with high handset.  Strides to square with hand load.  Flat swing plane with short stiff finish.  Mid/pull approach with line drive contact.  Consistent contact with average barrel.  71 mph exit velocity.  OF- Sits back and feet are slow to field.  Average glove and fields with two hands.  71 mph arm strength with below average accuracy and fade carry.  On mound- Rocker step.  Turns into short leg lift.  Good direction down mound.  Throws from a lower ¾ arm action.  Fastball has slight run thrown at 72-74 mph topping at 75 mph.  Curveball is inconsistent with small shape and break at 67-69 mph.  Change-up has some fade action at 70-71 mph. 

Parker Monette, OF/SS, Red River (ND), 2020
6-foot, 168-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  6.84 runner.  Open stance.  Strides to square with had load back.  Slight arm bar at times.  Flat swing plane with short finish.  Mid/pull approach ground ball and line drive contact.  Average contact with strength in barrel.  94 mph exit velocity.  OF- Athletic feet and moves well to field.  Good glove and fields ball clean.  81 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.  IF- Works around ball to field with athletic feet.  Average glove and makes routine play.  Average carry and accuracy with 74 mph arm strength.

Blake Vagle, OF, New London-Spicer, 2020
5-foot-9, 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  7.21 runner.  Balanced stance.  Small leg lift and hand load back.  Lands closed.  Flat swing plane and short finish.  Mid/pull approach with ground ball and line drive contact.  Average contact and barrel with 84 mph exit velocity.  OF- Good feet to field and through release.  Average glove and fields ball clean out front.  Average carry and accuracy with 83 mph arm strength.

Ryder Weigel, OF/RHP, West Fargo Sheyenne (ND), 2023
5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.  7.89 runner.  Squared balanced stance with high handset.  Some rhythm in load.  Small leg lift and hand load.  Flat swing plane.  Mid/pull approach with ground ball and line drive contact.  Average contact and barrel with 76 mph exit velocity.
