The PBR MN Prospect ID- Hopkins event took place on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. The event was held at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, MN. The event featured prospects from the 2021 and 2022 grad classes; and included many breakout performances from this year's participants. Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance. Thank you to the players, parents, my staff; along with the staff at Hopkins High School for such a great event.

Matt Beem, C, Farmington, 2021
5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.81 runner.  Slightly open balanced stance.  Toe tap trigger and small hand load down.  Arm bar at times creating length to contact.  Slightly uphill swing plane and pushes barrel through zone.  Gap to gap approach with ground ball to fly ball contact.  Inconsistent barrel contact with 78 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced setup.  Sits low with average athleticism.  Works ball to middle and holds pitches.  Average side to side and to block.  Longer exchange and footwork on throws.  2.40-2.62 pop times.  67 mph arm strength with average accuracy and below average carry.

Alex Broholm, C/SS, Shakopee, 2021
5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  7.32 runner.  Narrow stance.  Some rhythm in load.  Stride to start and hand load down.  Lower half gets through swing.  Good swing plane.  Gap to gap approach with solid line drive contact.  Consistent barrel contact with 82 mph exit velocity.  C- Open balanced stance.  Athletically moves to block and keeps ball in front.  Hold pitches and stabs to receive at times.  Average exchange with longer footwork on throws.  70 mph arm strength with average carry and good accuracy.  IF- Average feet and works around ball to field.  Longer footwork to release.  Average glove and fields ball out in front.  Makes routine play.  74 mph arm strength with average carry and accuracy.

Ethan Cole, C/RHP, Duluth East, 2021
6-foot-1, 147-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player.  Tall upright stance.  Two-part body load.  Hands load back.  Dives into swing with flat bat path.  Gap to gap approach with line drive and fly ball contact.  Average contact and barrel with 71 mph exit velocity.  C- Balanced setup with high chest.  Average athleticism.  Average glove to receive.  Keeps ball in front to block.  Average exchange with longer footwork.  2.07-2.16 pop times.  79 mph arm strength with average carry and good accuracy on throws.
