On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Prep Baseball Report Minnesota will be conducting its 1st ever PBR Spring Preview- North Dakota event, to be held at the Rustad Recreation Center- West Fargo . 

Two uncommitted players that will be in attendance are 2021 grad Ben Callies and 2022 grad Cooper Borchardt. Ben Callies, a 2021 SS/RHP, who is from Fargo Davies High School.  The 5-foot-10, 170-pound athletic two-way player last attended the Winter Open Mankato Event in 2020.  He had a well-rounded day by running a 7.15 60 time, 83 mph arm strength and a 79 mph exit velocity.  On the mound, Callies had a fastball sit 85-86 mph with good arm side run, a 68-72 mph breaking ball and an 80-81 mph change-up.  The performance landed Callies #42 in MN 2021 Class Rankings

Cooper Borchardt we have already seen in 2021 down in Sioux Falls, SD.  Borchardt passes the eye test with his 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame.  The right-handed hitting outfielder also puts up some solid numbers with being a 6.98 runner, 91 mph exit velocity and 85 mph arm strength.  Borchardt, who is currently ranked 57th overall in Minnesota’s 2022 class, will be one underclassman to keep close tabs on.

PBR Minnesota will look to continue into North Dakota as there is solid talent across the state.  We have seen players in the past attend numerous events across Minnesota and have done very well.  This Sunday we will see over 50 players from various High Schools in Minnesota, North and South Dakota.

This event is designed to allow players to showcase their ability which allows colleges to identify prospective student-athletes earlier in the recruiting process or find players needed immediately for next year. Players will also be evaluated and considered for updated player rankings along with being considered for future PBR “Invite-Only” events. The showcase will be featured on the PBR’s website, where more than 900 college coaches subscribe to look for talent. Scouting reports, statistics, and videos will be hosted in player profiles. Top players will also be identified from this event.

Players’ edited videos will also be hosted in the players’ profile along with scouting reports and statistics.
