PBR: Why did you choose Kansas State University?
BELCH: After visiting several schools, Kansas State felt like it was the best fit for me.  Coach Hill and his staff seemed very knowledgeable and excited to add me as a pitcher on their roster.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
BELCH: Dallas Baptist, University of Minnesota, and University of Missouri.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
BELCH: They saw me at the PBR MN Top Prospect Games event that I attended at the beginning of this summer. After the showcase, Coach Kincaid contacted me about his interest. They saw me a second time in Georgia at the WWBA tournaments. After the tournament in Georgia, they invited me to come visit the campus and when I did they made me an offer.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
BELCH: Yes, I most certainly do feel relieved. I don't have the stress of trying to get a scholarship/picking a school, and I can just relax and continue to work on getting better in the off season now.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
BELCH: Yes, it was Coach Hill and his awesome staff and Coach Kincaid who is an outstanding pitching coach. After meeting them, it just clicked and felt like where I needed to be.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
BELCH: There are many people who helped me throughout my baseball career, but my family by far has been the most supportive.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
BELCH: I was expecting to get a scholarship by 10th grade and not have to continue the process after that, but it didn't happen that way. I realized then it was not going to be an easy process.  It was difficult because you always felt like you had to have your "A" game every time you stepped on the field and to get on college's radar and then stay on it.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
BELCH: They plan on me making a big impact and helping me develop in my freshman year.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
BELCH: That's easy, when I threw a no-hitter in my sophomore year of high school.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
BELCH: After playing with the Marucci team in Louisiana for the last 2 summers, it’s hard for me to name one player as there were many talented players I faced.
