Quote from Head Coach Scott Renning- "Hutchinson has a very solid nucleus of players that have excelled in baseball. This class has finished 2nd in the State VFW Tournament in 2013, and helped finish 4th in the State Legion Tournament in 2014. Hutch has 6 players that are going on to play college baseball in this senior class. They will again be very solid in 2015 once they solidify their athletes and find the correct pieces they are missing from a very good 2014 team that fell to Eden Prairie in the section 2AAA semifinals. The WCC has consistently been one of the top leagues in the state, putting out both quality teams and quality players. Over the past 3 years kids like Dalton Sawyer - U of Minnesota (Waconia - 2012), Kasey Ralston - U of Indiana (Holy Family - 2012), Toby Hanson - U of Minnesota (Delano - 2014), Fernando Villegas - Iowa Central (Hutchinson - 2014), and now Eddie Estrada - U of Minnesota (Litchfield), Jake Stevenson - U of Minnnesota (Waconia), and Marcus Hahn - South Dakota State (Hutchinson) all show how truly strong this baseball league is. Hutchinson has been one of the top 4 teams in Section 2AAA the past 3 years (which Section 2AAA fares very well every year at the State Tournament). It will be a tough section again this year, and we will be in the mix."
