Updated Class of 2025 Player Rankings (August)

Throughout the summer we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen. We start with the Class of 2025.

As school gets underway and the fall sports season kicks off, we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", "Notable Newcomers”, "Summer Showcase Standouts", "Prospects College Coaches Need To Circle Back To " and a look some of the top uncommitted prospects by position, and a close look at the Top 10.

What's New In The Top 10

Uli Fernsler LHP / 1B / Novi, MI / 2025

Report: Ascending up the rankings not only in MI but nationally off another strong spring campaign and solid summer circuit with the Michigan Bulls. The 6-3 dangly frame has made a tick up in velocity into the low 90s while continuing to produce quality starts with elevated strikeouts and consistent strikes. Former Future Games alum, a TCU recruit, also participated at East Coast Pro earlier this month in front of a plethora of MLB scouts.

Luke LaCourse RHP / 3B / Bay City Western, MI / 2025

Report: Arguably the best pitcher in the Saginaw Valley League this past season, LaCourse has made a name for himself in the scouting community with a strong showing at East Coast Pro running the fastball up to 94. A Stout 6’4 220 frame has helped LaCourse go deep into games while maintaining efficiency throughout games.

Notable Newcomers

Colin Ignasiak RHP / OF / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2025

Report: A recent standout at the Central MI Summer ID, Colin repped his power fastball up to 90.8 during the workout. A rising ‘25 in the class that should be on the radar for a number of schools, look for Ignasiak to make jumps into the winter and spring seasons.

Cole Thomas LHP / OF / Grandville, MI / 2025

Report: A standout at the Western MI Summer ID earlier this month running the fastball up to 87 from an over the top arm slot but filling up the strike zone. At the plate displays a calm, quiet setup with a short compact swing. Look for Thomas to make big gains this offseason both offensive and on the mound.

Evan Morrison C / 1B / Macomb Dakota, MI / 2025

Report: Morrison was seen pounding baseballs to kick off the summer circuit at Michigan’s Ray Fisher Stadium during TPG Trials. Evan has worked diligently on fine tuning his swing while showing good power to pull side. A physical athlete who’s best baseball is in front of him.

Summer Showcase Standouts

Chance Sobbry 1B / OF / Dexter, MI / 2025

Report: Chance was extended an invite to the inaugural SFG at Lake Point last month in July and sure made the most out of it. The powerful switching hitting first baseman compiled a couple XBH, drawing walks and put out a couple balls over the wall. Having interest from multiple programs in the midwest, Sobbry committed to Georgia Southern, a Sun Belt Conference program.

Tyler Bruggeman OF / LHP / Adrian, MI / 2025

Report: A rising Senior hailing from Adrian with a left handed swing who posted a 6.63 at Top Prospect Games back in June. Good eye at the plate with a 2-1 BB/K ratio this spring for the Maples while slugging 8 doubles. Most notably swiped 30 bases. Has continually improved from winter 2023 when he attended Northern MI ID.

Jackson Asaro OF / C / Plymouth, MI / 2025

Report: Athletic defender and quick on the bases. Asaro attended TPG this past June registering an exit velocity up to 88. The speed of Asaro is what is a gamechanger for him with 6.81 speed. Can really turn it on if a ball runs up the alley and can extend a double into a triple.

College Coaches Need To Circle Back To

Daniel Seymour SS / RHP / Rochester Adams , MI / 2025

Report: Invitee to Senior Future Games with solid range on the left side of the infield and room to fill out the frame. Really stood out at unsigned senior games in July at Oakland, solidifying spot at LakePoint.

Sawyer Cooney RHP / SS / Bloomfield Hills , MI / 2025

Report: Right hander with good side and high ceiling with an above average fastball, Cooney has made good progress from spring to summer while earning a spot on Reds Fall Scout team. Fastball will be into the low 90s coming out at a H3/4 slot with arm side run into righties.

Cash Van Ameyde OF / LHP / Brother Rice, MI / 2025

Report: A true gamer in all sense, Van Ameyde was a catapult for the Warriors this spring in the leadoff spot setting the table. Cash has established himself as a top defender with great bat to ball skills making him a challenging out for opponents. A vibrant personality that will make a great addition to a program.

Eugene (Tro) Fellings OF / LHP / Kalamazoo Central High School, MI / 2025

Report: Southpaw from Southwest Michigan really turned it on this summer making significant jumps with his fastball velocity into the low 90s and a developing slider that garnered a handful of strikeouts. Coaches will like looseness in arm action down the mound and little mileage on the arm setting up for a big offseason.

Drew Tolfree LHP / OF / Lansing Catholic, MI / 2025

Report: The workhorse for Lansing Catholic, Tolfree has already seen traction on the recruiting front with a number of in-state programs. Tolfree produced a good summer with the fastball into the mid 80s and 12/6 breaking ball.
