The 13th annual Future Games took place on July 24-28 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2026 and 2027 participated in one of the most popular events each year.

There were 36 teams, including Team Michigan, with players representing 43 states plus Canadian prospects. Each team played three games the final three days of the event after all position players are put through a showcase workout on Wednesday, the first day of the Future Games.

More than 300 colleges from across the country were looking on as approximately 500 players participated in this year’s event. This year, more than 450 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance.

2024 Future Games: Team Michigan - College Interest In Future Games Continues To Soar

EMERSON, Ga. - It was another record-breaking Future Games as interest in the event continues to rise.

The Prep Baseball event that started in 2011 drew an astounding 425 college coaches, surpassing last year’s previous high number of 375 in attendance.

The attraction? It was obvious with 36 teams featuring players from 43 states and four Canadian provinces. Adding to the interest was the addition of the Senior Future Games with a dozen teams for uncommitted players entering their senior year of high school.

“The sheer amount of talent stood out,” noted Shooter Hunt, vice president of scouting for Prep Baseball. “I had many of the 425 college coaches in attendance come by and say that this was the deepest class that they had ever seen at the event.”

The talent was obvious according to Hunt.

“It seemed like every single arm that toed the rubber had huge upside, and 87-90 became the norm,” Hunt noted. “While the arms were outstanding, I was even more impressed by how comfortable the position players were in the box against those studs. There were some downright scary position player prospects.”

Adam Goodwin was impressed with what he saw in his second year at the event as Prep Baseball Michigan Director of Scouting.

“This is undoubtedly the biggest and most heavily scouted event for the amateur high school student-athlete,” Goodwin said. “With over 425 coaches in attendance, they are seen by coaches and programs from California to the Atlantic Ocean. They have the opportunity to display why they’re the best player in their class in that specific region or state.

“We feel we were represented in good fashion this July. Our staff does a lot of front end work on this to make sure it runs smoothly for the players. Much of it is logistical, making sure we get each player their allotted playing time and so fourth.”

The competition was top-notch.

“The overall player pool in the teams we played in with Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania was very, very good,” noted Goodwin, whose squad lost its opener to Pennsylvania before bouncing back to beat Pennsylvania and Ohio. “We got a glimpse of what will be future draft picks from a position player side and on the mound. Top to bottom, our players were challenged each day to bring their best to the park and it certainly was a thrilling experience.”

Goodwin was pleased with what Team Michigan brought to the dugout and on the field.

“Our kids represented the state of Michigan in a first class manner,” Goodwin explained. “I had a handful of staff members and umpires relaying how respectful our kids were. Overall, we played well as a group and rebounded from a very good PA team which will have numerous Division I commitments on it. We had strong showings from Carson Liedel and Ethan Armstrong, both Top 3 in Michigan for the ’26 class, along with Dylan Fairchild, Drake Roa, Cole Duhaime and Preston Kann.”

Goodwin sees a bright future ahead for those participating.

“I've had communication with a number of schools about our players and expect a number of kids to be busy during the month of August as they navigate the recruiting process,” Goodwin said.

Speaking of the future, Goodwin saw a lot of promise in those playing for Team Michigan in the Junior Future Games.

“We had a lot of fun with our 14u group, which really got after it,” Goodwin said. “It was a great group of kids that all have promising futures and with more development will turn into special players. Coach (Mike) Steele did a great job of pointing out teaching moments during and post-game. Overall, our 2028 class is strong moving forward and will only continue to strengthen as we identify more of the state's top players.”

Hunt was thrilled with how it all turned out.

“A record-setting 425 college coaches were in attendance for this event, and that number alone speaks volumes to the importance of the event in the recruiting world,” Hunt said about the 14th annual Future Games for incoming sophomores and juniors along with the Junior Future Games for soon-to-be ninth graders and select eighth graders and, this year, the first Senior Future Games. “There is simply nothing else like it. Many schools were there with three and four coaches because there was so much talent.

“It was fascinating hearing how each school split up the event,” Hunt added in reference to the challenge at hand to see players at each of the three levels of play. “They all appeared to have full on meetings prior to coming to LakePoint to figure out how to dissect the coverage to get the most out of it.”

As for what lies ahead, that is still to be determined.

“Nothing has been set for 2025, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some changes and advancements,” Hunt concluded. “We are never satisfied, and always want to provide the best experience for both the player and college coach so that it is easier for the two to unite.”

A Prep Baseball thank you to all that participated and a special thanks to the players on Team Michigan that gave their thoughts about the event (including what schools have been in contact with them since Aug. 1):

During the Future Games I pitched two solid innings for Team Michigan, all while enjoying great team camaraderie and support.

I felt strong on the mound, maintaining good control on my pitches, though I could improve on consistency with my changeup.

Being part of Team Michigan was a proud experience. I enjoyed the team spirit and the excellent coaching staff.

Jackson Gilbert RHP / OF / Avondale, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
One of my highlights from the Future Games was competing with the best talent across Michigan. Most of us have played against each other in high school, so it was exciting getting to meet everyone and play together on one team. Another one of my highlights was hitting 90. I set this goal at the beginning of the season and there was no bigger stage for me to accomplish this goal. I was very glad I was able to top out at 90 and sit upper-80s.

PBR: Assess your performance.
Overall I was pleased with my performance. It took a few pitches to get the nerves out but after I settled down it went smooth. Hitting the first two batters on three pitches was rough, but I was able to get out of the jam with only one run scored. I came back out and started with back-to-back Ks looking which felt amazing. Then I was able to get the final out with a ground out.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan was amazing. I not only felt I was representing the state but also my organization. I was the only player from USA Prime Michigan to make the roster and I wanted to perform well for myself but also for the organization and the coaches that got me there. I’ve played against many of the athletes that represented Team Michigan and it was nice to finally play on the same team. There was definitely lots of smack talk on how we did against each other in the past but it was all fun and games. I was glad I could represent Team Michigan at the Future Games.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition at the event was filled with the best players in the class. Everyone was catching barrels so it was definitely harder finding outs.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
In my view participating at the Futures Games prepares you for any high-stress situation in life. It taught me that having confidence in myself and my team was extremely important to performing well. Knowing that you’ve prepared and worked hard all season to get to the Future Games and trusting yourself will benefit me playing in the future with getting used to all the eyes on you so when you’re pitching in college you’ll be ready. Overall the Future Games taught me how to prepare and perform in high-intense environments.

Preston Kann RHP / SS / Standish Sterling Central, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
Overall I had an amazing experience at the Future Games. I have nothing bad to say about it.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
I truly enjoyed competing with the best players nationally in a very well-run event. PBR did a great job!

PBR: Assess your performance.
I had what I feel was the perfect performance for me. I pitched well, but not to the standard that I expect…so it showed me what I needed to work on to improve.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
The team was great, there was a family feel right from the beginning! Adam Goodwin and the Michigan PBR team did a great job organizing and coaching us…which created a “Michigan brotherhood” of the top players!

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was great. All were great players, no weaknesses anywhere. As an alumni of the PBR Junior Futures and several other showcases, the talent keeps improving. Everyone is stepping up!

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
The large number of coaches at the event was unprecedented. Name the team, they were all there. This event right before recruiting season is extremely helpful to the players and coaches.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
There have been many college camps I’ve attended and I’m looking forward to a busy next few months.

Cam Pallo RHP / SS / Forest Hills Eastern, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My highlight of the Future Games was the 1-2-3 inning I threw against Team Indiana on just eight pitches.

PBR: Assess your performance.
Going into the event I was nervous. It had been just six weeks since I had ankle surgery from a break in late May, so I had only thrown in-game once prior to the event in the past two months. My first inning wasn’t perfect, and my velocity wasn’t what it had been, but with the help from my teammates and coaches between innings, the second inning went much better.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being part of Team Michigan was great. My teammates were great and I’m very thankful for the chance to be down there with them.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was good. I knew that all the hitters would be the best there is, but it helped knowing that I had the best defense possible behind me.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Participating in the Future Games can help me in the future because I think it gave me a chance to see what it was like in a high-pressure scenario.

Lennox Peacock RHP / 3B / Escanaba, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My Future Games highlight was being able to go out and perform, only giving up one run.

PBR: Assess your performance.
My performance was good. I pitched well and got people out in key spots.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan was amazing. Getting to play with the best players in Michigan and being able to include myself in that group is amazing.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was amazing. I got to face the MVP of the entire tournament and I thought I actually did really well against him.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Well it definitely helps with being nervous before games now because nothing can compare to a crowd like there was in Atlanta.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
Oakland, Western Michigan and Central Michigan.

Jax Racht RHP / RHP / Niles, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My highlights from the Future Games include getting three strikeouts in two innings of pitching and showcasing my sinker (2-seam FB) consistently between 87-89 mph … and of course the overall camaraderie with my teammates.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I believe I performed well overall. The first inning I was definitely a little amped up with all of the scouts on hand, so it took me a few hitters to settle in. I was able to rely on my sinker to many of the left-handed batters and my slider worked great as an out pitch on the righties.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being part of Team Michigan was an incredible experience. The team chemistry was outstanding, and the coaching staff provided excellent support and guidance. What stood out to me was the level of talent and dedication from all the players on the team.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition at the Future Games was off the charts! I faced some of the best hitters in the country, which was both challenging and rewarding. It pushed me to elevate my game and helped me realize that my “stuff” is good enough to compete at the highest level.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Participating in the Future Games can help me in the future by providing exposure to college scouts and coaches. It also allowed me to test my skills against top-level competition, which is invaluable for my development as a player.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
Northwestern, Michigan State, Butler, Appalachian State, Brown University and Oakland University all called Aug. 1 to express interest.

Logan Slimko RHP / OF / North Muskegon, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
I was able to maintain my velocity throughout the summer, so by the time of the Futures it was not down very much at all.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I threw all my pitches well. The only thing that hurt me was getting down 1-0 a bit more than I would have wanted.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
I feel that Michigan has a ton of pitching talent in the ’26 class, so it was fun to be around that and just watch everyone.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The team I pitched against was very good at putting the ball in play. It was clear that a pitcher's outing was very dependent on if the ball got hit in the wrong or right spots because they weren’t swinging and missing much.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
It gave me the experience of playing in front of the most college coaches possible.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
A few mid-major D-I schools and a couple bigger D-I schools.

Anthony Voikos RHP / 1B / Stoney Creek, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My highlight of the Games was me pitching and being able to compete.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I thought I did very well. I allowed 0 runs scored and I was very efficient.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
I thought being on Team Michigan was an honor. It was great to meet people from all over the state.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition I faced was the best in the nation. It was really fun to be able to watch and play and compete with these amazing players.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
I think going to another Future Games can get me more exposure to more colleges and could help me a lot.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
Michigan State, Oakland and California State have reached out to me.

The Infielders

Henry Ewles 1B / LHP / Notre Dame Prep & Marist Academy, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My Future Games highlights included the huge number of schools watching every game, every day! The level of talent, especially pitching, was also unreal. I really enjoyed hanging out with my teammates from around Michigan who I am usually playing against.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I thought my performance overall was really good. I was able to showcase my skills in the field and power at the plate against top-end pitching. I was also able to get time on the mound, and had a clean inning with no runs and no hits allowed.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being on Team Michigan for the Future Games was a goal of mine for the past several seasons and to be on the field with my teammates at the Future Games was amazing! Team Michigan’s pitching was really deep, and our hitting and defense were really solid.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition we faced at the Future Games was elite, including a couple of the top-ranked players in the country and the Future Games MVP. Every arm we faced was 86+, and up to 93! It was great facing such high-level talent in every game.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
My participation in the Future Games has already paid off. I was seen by, and have had contact with, college coaches who said they identified me at the event. Those coaches likely might not have ever seen me if I had not been at the Future Games! I know from watching players who attended the Future Games in previous years, that being a player who played in the Future Games carries a lot of weight.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
Since Aug. 1st, I have had contact with multiple coaches, including Michigan State, Brown, Winthrop and Lehigh.

Dylan Fairchild SS / RHP / Detroit Catholic Central, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My Future Games highlights are definitely getting to know the kids I played with and playing at the highest level.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I thought I performed well. I thought my best day was our second game hitting-wise, and I thought I did a solid job on defense throughout the week.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan was incredible. I got to play with the best kids in our area instead of playing against them. What stood out to me was that everyone was positive and understood their role, always picking each other up and being good teammates.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was the best of the best, the best kids in each state playing against each other.  There were definitely no free games. You knew it’s going to be a battle.

The Future Games is the most important event I’ve ever played at. It gives you an opportunity to play in front of hundreds of scouts and show off.

Dallas Terski 1B / OF / Divine Child, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
First and foremost, my most important highlight was being selected for Team Michigan and competing against some great competition from around the different states.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I got the first hit for Team Michigan in game play. I set a new PR in the 60-yard dash (6.97) and on my infield velocity (89). Overall I was very pleased with my performance given this was the biggest recruiting event of the year. I felt very good about my defensive work at first base. I hit .333 AVG with an OBP of .429.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being part of Team Michigan was one of the best experiences. Coming together and playing with the top players in the state allowed me to show my abilities as well as see how I stack up with the best in the country. I thought the team chemistry was smooth. It was as if we had played together for some time. I thought coach Goodwin, coach Spencer and coach Steele did a great job with bringing us all together and allowing our skills to shine as an individual and as one.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
I thought the competition was top notch. I thought we saw some great arms along with some good bats. We had to raise our game to match the level of the competition. Iron sharpens iron.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
The Future Games allowed me to be in front of tons of scouts at one time. I was able to get in front of schools who I am interested in and who have shown interest in me and I was also exposed to schools that I would never be able to get in front of. The exposure level was incredible. It was a great experience.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
Since Aug. 1st I have had phone calls with Wright State and Michigan State and have been asked and will be taking a visit to Michigan State.

Matt Toeppner 2B / OF / Rochester Adams, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My personal highlight was being able to compete with the best competition in the country.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I went 2-7 hitting and stole three bases.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan was a great time. The team had chemistry for only knowing each other for three days. What stood out is that most of us had played each other at some point in time when we were younger.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was some of the top that I’ve seen. Facing the top pitchers in the country every at-bat took some time to adjust to for a whole week.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Participating in the Future Games is a big step to being recruited by colleges. Going to the Future Games lets other teams of interest know that you have experience with good competition.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
No coaches have reached out yet, but hopefully opportunities come in the future.

Andrew Tribul 3B / OF / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My Future Games highlights were some of the plays I made at third base, beating Team Ohio and my triple.

PBR: Assess your performance.
My performance in the field I thought was very good, from the diving plays to the choppers and on-the-run throws. In the box I worked the count fighting off pitches I didn’t like until I got one I could barrel.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan was awesome. The things that stood out were all of the different talents on our team. We all had things we specialized in and we all showed it in the event.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
Every game and every inning we saw a great arm on the bump. The average I would say was 90 for the pitchers combined but they all had something unique about them that made every pitcher stand out in their own way. As a hitter, facing those pitchers and seeing what the best uncommitted talent in the state looked like and going out and competing against them was a lot of fun.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Participating in the Future Games has definitely already helped me in the future by the doors it’s opened. Having all these coaches come and be able to watch me play against great talent can definitely help me in the future with recruiting and ultimately my commitment.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
So far I have talked to more than six Division 1 programs in the last 48 hours.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My Future Games highlights include a triple against Ohio, stealing a base against Pennsylvania, and scoring from first on a hard-hit double.

PBR: Assess your performance.
My performance was good, I wanted to do much more than I actually did, though, and that frustrated me a little bit, but overall I really loved my experience for the opportunity to be able to compete with the best and play with the best as well.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
Being a part of Team Michigan meant that I was a part of the best players, not only in my community but in the entire state of Michigan. I am really thankful for the chance that Spencer, Adam Goodwin and Mike Steele gave me to compete. The boys on the team were nothing short of great either. I made some great friends the week of the games.

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition we faced was upper echelon. I haven’t consistently faced ’90s before and this was the first time I have. I believe that PBR really did pick the best players for each state.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
Competing in the Future Games could really help me with getting my name out. Being associated with a high-level showcase and being promoted by a massive organization like PBR will definitely give my name a boost in looks.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
The University of Akron as well as Oakland University both contacted me on August 1st. I am in consistent contact with them as well.

Bennett Thompson C / SS / Detroit Catholic Central, MI / 2026

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights?
My highlights from the week were being chosen to represent the state of Michigan at the Future Games, and to play with and against the best talent at my age. Just as important was being able to meet, play with and become friends with the guys from Team Michigan.

PBR: Assess your performance.
I think I played really well and showed that I belong among the top players. I competed from both sides of the plate against top pitching, and hit the ball hard all week, including some line outs and deep fly balls. No hits, but I was happy with my approach and that I was competing and getting good barrels. I played really well and clean at SS and 2B, and was able to make some really good plays including twisting a DP with my high school teammate, Dylan (Fairchild). I didn’t get a chance to get behind the plate, but I was happy with my PT and performance.

PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Michigan and what stood out.
The event was very organized, and I was just proud to be part of a small group to represent my home state. What stood out was how talented the Michigan team was and that we performed well and came out on top of Indiana and Ohio! We have good baseball in Michigan!

PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event.
The competition was the best I have seen at my age. All the pitchers threw 90s, and every kid can hit! Anyone getting the chance to come down and play in the Future Games needs to take advantage of the opportunity. The fields are awesome, and the atmosphere with all of the scouts was unreal, nothing I've ever seen before. The event will challenge you that’s for sure.  Everyone there is really good.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future?
What helped me was proving I belonged. I had a chance to show my game to a ton of scouts, and hopefully many liked what they saw. I think I proved I can play ball at a high level in college.  The event gave me confidence to take into the fall and winter workouts.

PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached?
I didn't have much contact with coaches prior to Aug 1st, except for being able to meet some Big 10 coaches and a few others at the Future Games. Since Aug. 1st, I have been contacted by Western Michigan, Ohio University, Oakland University, Brown University, Charleston Southern, Univ of Illinois Chicago, Coastal Carolina, and Wright State. Hopefully some more reach out!
