Macomb Dakota came into the year expecting good things, but no one expected them to be off to an 18-1 record. The senior laden team has a special blend of pitching depth, team speed and perhaps most importantly senior leadership. They are the real deal and overtake Lake Orion as the new No. 1
Lake Orion hasn't slipped much this year. The "Big Three" of Nick Deeg, Brad Schaenzer, and Josh Bays has been as advertised. In fact, Deeg and Schaenzer have each only allowed one earned run on the year.
Gull Lake has been red hot and is now 14-1 on the year. As a team Gull Lake is explosive offensively and are sitting at a .367 average. Freshman Drew Blakely is hitting .500 on the year. Matt Fish, Pat Gaudard, Aaron Fadden, Nate Tomlinson and Nic Jannsen are all hitting well over .300.
Howell makes a big jump as well moving up into the Top 10 checking in at No. 9 with a number of big wins recently. The knocked off No. 22 Brighton, who is making their first appearance in this years rankings as well, to win the Shelander Classic.
Jumping into the Power Rankings for the first time is Division III Bath HS with a 10-0 record. Bath junior RHP Ryan Orr is 7-0 on the year with 68 strikeouts and zero walks. Yes you read that right. 68-0 strikeout to walk ratio.
