Uncommitted Spotlight: Tumpkin Still Looking For An Opportunity
Carlos Tumpkin RHP / OF / Brother Rice, MI / 2018Rankings StateRank: 60 / POS: 19
BLOOMFIELD HILLS - An arm that has potential at the next level has colleges interested in Carlos Tumpkin. But a strong bat has brought another skill into the equation. “I went to a recent PBR event and had a 94 exit velo,” the right-handed hitting Tumpkin noted. “The coach at Saginaw Valley talked to me after that. He was my coach at a Central Michigan camp and is also the pitching coach at Saginaw.” The Brother Rice senior has had a visit to Mott and plans ahead are for visits to Lansing Community College and Mesa CC in Arizona. There have also been talks with Northwood as well as Eastern Michigan. “If I go D-I or D-II, I’m fine with PO,” Tumpkin said about being a pitcher-only. “But if I go to a community college I want to go both ways.” That avenue has developed with improvement over the past year. |
