Tecumseh Takes Blissfield's Lena Pizza Invitational Despite 2 Hour Rain Delay

Blissfield - On a day full of rain, Tecumseh sophomore right handed pitcher Phil Carey shut down the Southgate Anderson Titan's offense winning 5-2. The smooth, confident Carey went the distance as he threw a complete game with five strikeouts, six hits, two earned runs and one walk. The Indians of Tecumseh assisted Carey by scoring three runs in the first and two more in the third. Eastern Michigan University bound Devon Bronson crushed a solo shot beyond the right centerfield gap in the fourth for Southgate.. He also delivered an RBI double to the right centerfield gap in the sixth to finish 2-for-3 with a double and a homerun noting the lone 2 RBIs for the Titans. Junior outfielder and speedy lefty, Jacob Britt, contributed two hits for the Indians and finished the game reaching base in all four at bats with a single, double, a walk and a hit by pitch.
Tecumseh finished off the day beating Blissfield 3-1 in a pitchers duel. Sophomore right handed pitcher Nick Cowen provided the timely pitching and took the win in four innings. Junior Eric Eldred held the Royals to only one hit and struck out two while earning the save.
Earlier Action - Blissfield Beats Bay City Central 4-2
In earlier action at the Lena Pizza Invitational, Senior Captain, Josh Knorr went the distance, going six strong innings and received the win for the Royals despite the rain.
Bay City Central Meets Southgate's Bronson in Consolation Game

Despite providing the offense in the earlier game for Southgate, senior Devon Bronson took the mound for the consolation game. He went four and two thirds innings against a tough Central line-up. Bronson was strong on the mound, striking out eight and retiring sixteen of the wolves batters.
