Recently we ran an article titled Class of 2013: Breaking Down the Top 25 that outlined 21 of the our top 25 players are attending D1 schools. Since that time we have seen a few more commitments take place in both the 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes. Here is a quick look at who has recently committed.
No. 19 (2013) Zach Olszewski commits to Bethune Cookman. Olsewski had looks from a bunch of different schools and ultimately decided to take his talents to Daytona Beach. You can read more about his commitment here.
No. 27 (2013) Luke Scharich commits to Oakland University. Scharich is a gritty lefty that knows how to pitch. He started in the state championship for Bay City John Glenn and pitched well. Scharich is a good pick up for the Oakland Grizzlies and Head Coach John Musachio.
No. 6 (2014) Jake Bivens commits to Michigan. Bivens was a Midwest Futures Games participant and has seen his stock continue to rise. After taking visits to Michigan, Michigan State, and Wake Forrest, Bivens decided to stay close to home and attend Michigan.
No. 9 (2014) Tanner Allison commits to Western Michigan. Allison popped onto the recruiting scene this summer performing well for the Miidwest Elite. Allison played well in big tournaments around the country according to coaches Brian Kalczynski and Doug Pickens.
No. 22 (2014) Andrew Gonzalez commits to Michigan State. Gonzalez also had a fine summer for the Detroit Metro Stars. Reports are that Gonzalez has been regularly touching 89 mph. His long, loose arm action creates really good whip, and he should continue to progress as he matures. Don't be surprised if Gonzalez turns out to be a low to mid 90's guy. He is due for a bump in the rankings as well.
