Joe Cox, 3B, Stoney Creek HS, 2014- The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Cox is athletic. He has a strong lower half and is put together well. In the field he demonstrates soft hands and good actions. His arm plays well for 3B (82mph). He does have a longer arm action but all of his throws were accurate and had good carry. At the plate Cox has an advanced approach. Shows good balance and athleticism throughout the swing. Ball jumps off of the bat with an exit velo of 88mph. He does wrap the bat head but makes up for it with quick hands and getting to extension well.
Riley Davis, 3B, Battle Creek Lakeview HS, 2014- Davis is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound strong athletic third baseman. He ran ok for his standards (7.07). Has been as low as 6.88 before. His arm strength improved to 85mph across the diamond, a testament to his strength. His arm is longer for an infielder. At the plate he started from a crouch yet athletic setup. He got to extension well but needs to improve his lower half. His bat speed registered 85mph.
Alex Fleming, 3B/RHP, Midland Bullock Creek HS, 2014- Fleming has more room to grow at only 6-foot, 150-pounds. The slender Fleming has solid hands and throws from a low 3/4 slot across the diamond (79mph). Runs a solid 7.24 in the 60-yard dash. At the plate, Fleming ill make a jump when he adds more strength. He is balanced and keeps his approach simple. Will see more pop when he incorporates his lower half more. Showed solid contact with line drive approach.
Jonathan Hentschel, 3B/RHP, Midland HS, 2014- Hentschel has really popped onto the scene and has seen his stock rise substantially. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Hentschel shows raw athleticism and an above average arm. Across the diamond he was 87mph. Hentschel has soft hands but needs to improve his footwork. At the plate, Hentschel has more power potential if he can better incorporate his lower half. His setup is balanced with a smooth load. His hands work well and he gets the bat head through. Overall Hentschel's performance can be summed up as productive with plenty of potential.
Jacob Rogers, 3B/RHP, Sterling Heights Stevenson HS, 2014- Rogers is a big strong 6-foot-2, 202-pound third baseman. He demonstrates good hands at third base. They are soft and he has good reactions. He threw the ball well with accuracy across the diamond 80+mph. Needs to improve his speed but at the corners it won't make as much of a difference. At the plate he was balanced and under control. Takes a nice swing. Hands work well. Short stride and smooth load.
Kyle Randick, 3B/1B, Flushing HS, 2014- Randick is a true corner player. He has a big body and strong lower half. Checks in at 6-foot-1, 215-pounds. His arm action is longer. Threw the ball with accuracy and 81mph. At the plate shows good ability to drive the baseball. Barrels up consistently. Gets to extension well. Has a smooth load and short stride. Keeps his approach simple and compact. Exit velo one of the best (92 mph). Needs to work on his foot speed and strength.
Randy Righter, 3B/1B, Brother Rice HS, 2014- Righter is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound big bodied athlete. He showed softer hands at 3B with solid arm strength across the diamond (79mph). Arm was loose. Throws were a bit consistent at times and can make all of the plays. Has natural instincts on the field. He is an offensive threat at the plate. Has good extension when he doesn't cut himself off. Bat speed was good. Exit velocity was 87mph. Needs to improve lower half at the plate to generate even more pop.
Kyle Rago, RHP/1B, Berrien Springs HS, 2014- Rago is an outstanding athlete. He stands 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. Rago has flown under-the-radar for too long. He has legitimate potential to play both ways at the next level. At the plate he is still a little raw but there is pure power in his swing. He demonstrates good balance in his setup and a short stride. His bat speed is explosive and he registered a 91mph exit velocity. In the field he showed good arm strength (81 mph) and soft hands. His glove work was very good.
