Michigan Notebook: Big Commitments Headline a Busy Past Few Weeks

It has been a while since we have done a recap of recent commitments. Since that time we have had a landslide of big names go off of the board.

Dion Henderson (Divine Child HS) made his commitment to Kentucky and the flood gates opened. The 6-foot-3 lefty has arguably some of the best upside in the region. He has been as high as 91mph off the mound and this superior athlete isn't done adding velocity. He garnered national attention with the likes of Michigan, LSU, and Vanderbilt among others.

Shortly thereafter the No. 4 ranked prospect in the state in the Class of 2015 and Henderson's teammate Collin Goslin (Divine Child HS) committed to Michigan. The big, strong lefty has reached 88mph and has a college ready breaking ball right now.

Staying in the Catholic League, the Class of 2016 No. 1 ranked player Karl Kauffmann (Brother Rice HS) joined the committed list for the Wolverines at the University of Michigan. Kauffmann has all of the poise and polish to be a highly attractive option to pro-scouts come senior year, but there is a lot of time left for this current sophomore.

But it wsan't only the young guns lining up their commitments. Several high-quality middle infielders in Ryan Mergener (Portage Central HS), Logan Magsig (Hudsonville HS) and Josh Smith (Marysville HS) came off the board.
