Amani Karim, Brother Rice, SS, 2017
Rank: 100th in Michigan's 2017 Class
Scouting Report: Karim has an athletic 6-foot, 155-pound build. He stands upright and uses a leg kick with good rhythm in his load. He shows good weight transfer and keeps his barrel through the zone with a controlled swing. His exit velocity was 81 mph and he ran a 4.27 home-to-1st. In the field, he shows smooth actions with good footwork while funneling the ball to his belt with his hands. His position velocity across the diamond was 75 mph.
College Outlook: Amani is an athletic prospect who has fluid actions in the infield. He can play both SS and 2B. Has soft hands as well as a quick release throwing the ball. Runs a 6.88 60-yard dash so he could potentially move to the OF if needed. Overall a good athlete that can make plays. At the plate he swings in rhythm showing good contact skills.
