Isiah Lindsey RHP / SS / Spring Lake, MI / 2020

NUNICA - Isiah Lindsey believes there is a lot he can provide a college program.

“I’ll bring a positive lead-by-example role,” the Spring Lake senior said. “I love to win at anything. I feel I can help winning the small events. If you do that, it will bring winning in the bigger things when it’s crunch time.”

PBR Michigan Director of Scouting Aaron Wilson sees more that Lindsey can bring at the next level.

“Isiah is a high IQ player that understands the game,” noted Wilson, who also pointed to his command on the mound with an 86 mph fastball. “He displays leadership qualities in the way he plays the game. He's the type of player that all players enjoy playing with.”

But the 84th-ranked 2020 in the state is still looking for his college home.

“I’ve been speaking with Grand Valley State and I recently have been in contact with Eastern Michigan and some other schools in Michigan and Indiana,” related Lindsey, who last year went on a visit to Alabama State. “I’ve been invited on a visit to Hope, Eastern and Albion and also had people talk to Davenport coach (Kevin) Tidey.”

The recruiting process has been an interesting one admitted the 6-2 180-pound two-way prospect.

“At the beginning I was sending videos, letters, emails and attending PBR to show numbers from a reliable source,” Lindsey explained. “I thought that was really helpful. It pushes yourself to a different goal and mindset.

“I live in a small area, so going across the state helps you see how you fare against other people. It can humble you with how much better you have to get.”

Lindsey believes location is an issue.

“It’s well known that the west side of the state does not have the powers of the east side,” the 27th-ranked senior right-handed pitcher pointed out. “I don’t feel that some west side players are getting the looks they should.”

It has Lindsey doing what he can to get noticed.
