PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it as expected? Easy/Difficult?
Hilton: My expectations were to be looked at by different schools. Yes, it was as expected it was easy.
PBR: What were you looking for out of a college program to continue your baseball career at?
Hilton: I was looking for a college that would be a good fit for me and I would be able to play.
PBR: Did location or distance from home play a factor in your decision?
Hilton: No, location did not play a factor in my decision.
PBR: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you? Was there a particular game or event that you feel turned the corner for you?
Hilton: It really started my sophomore year in high school and at a showcase I was in at Southfield Lathrup High school.
PBR: Where did the college you chose first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Hilton: They first saw me at Southfield Lathrup showcase. They followed me through my sophomore high school year at Lamphere high school and summer ball with Midland baseball Organization.
PBR: What do you like most about the college you committed to and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Hilton: It's a Division 1 school, it's down south, baseball is played year round along with great competition.
PBR: What other schools were on your short list before you made your final decision?
Hilton: Eastern Michigan University, Coppin State University, and Wright State University.
PBR: Who is the best player you have faced in your state, and why?
Hilton: Nick Plummer, he was a good hitter.
PBR: At what point in your career did you realize you were a college caliber player and became serious about taking your game to the next level?
Hilton: Around 15 after my freshman year in high school is when I knew I could be college caliber player.
