Weylin Frisbie, RHP, Rochester Adams, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Tiffin?

Frisbie: I chose Tiffin University for a good opportunity to play college baseball.  I really liked the friendly atmosphere of the campus and the academic support they provide for their players.  The coaches played a big part of my decision by showing their commitment towards the baseball program.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Frisbie: I was considering Ohio Northern, Illinois State, Cincinnati, Morehead State, and Northwood.

PBR:  Where did Tiffin first see you compete?

Frisbie:  Tiffin first saw me compete this season during a home game at Rochester Adams High School.

PBR: Coach Wilkins has brought a lot of excitement to the Dragon baseball program.  What are some of the skills that you will bring to the table Tiffin?

Frisbie:  My skills are different than most right handed pitchers.  I will be throwing strikes to weak contact and keep the hitters off balance with my change up and slider.

PBR: What kind of role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Frisbie:  My coaches said I would play a significant role as a pitcher for their team and I would have to earn my innings by hard work and effort.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Frisbie:  My pitching coach, Justin Robinson, had to be the greatest influence on me as a pitcher.  He not only taught me how to be a good pitcher, he taught me the mental game of pitching and how to face each batter with confidence.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience?

Frisbie:  In the past two summers, I played for the South Oakland A’s (Lelli). I had many great experiences, such as beating the #1 team in the nation, East Cobb Astros, in Nashville.  Also, this summer I beat the International Baseball Academy from Puerto Rico in Fort Myers, Florida.

PBR: What were your stats for this spring season?

Frisbie:  This season, I was 7-0 with a 0.936 ERA and 0.166 Average Against in 52 innings pitched.

PBR: Who is the best hitter that you have ever faced?

Frisbie:  I have faced many difficult hitters over the past two years.  I think that Scott Stubenrauch, Oxford High School, seemed to barrel up the ball better than most hitters I’ve faced.
