Camden Daniels C / 3B / Saline, MI / 2020Rankings StateRank: 33 / POS: 2
SALINE - His father played college baseball at the University of Detroit. A brother is a left-handed pitcher at Kentucky. Camden Daniels is looking to be the next in line. If interest following the Future Games is any indication, the Saline junior will keep up the family tradition. “Prior to the Future Games I just did a little emailing with colleges,” explained Daniels. “But after the Future Games everything took off.” Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and a JUCO in Florida have all reached out to the 33rd-ranked 2020 in the state. “I haven’t gone on any visits yet, but I’m going to Ball State in mid-January for a camp,” the 6-4 175-pound catcher noted. As the second-rated junior catcher in Michigan, colleges are impressed with what Daniels has to offer. “They like my defensive ability as a catcher,” Daniels said. “My hitting continues to develop with more power, so there’s a lot of potential.” Daniels showed it at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games. “I did pretty good there,” Daniels said. “In the showcase part I did pretty well and in the games I did what I always do. I competed and just battled.” Aaron Wilson, Michigan PBR Director of Scouting, sees Daniels as a big contributor to a program at the next level. “Camden is the type of guy every coach wants on his team,” Wilson said. “He’s a hard worker and a team guy who has a positive attitude. There is a high ceiling for him as a player. He will help improve a college program.” |
