2024 Future Games: Team Michigan - Workout/Gameday Notes

The 13th annual Future Games took place on July 24-28 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2026 and 2027 participated in one of the most popular events each year.
There were 36 teams, including Team Michigan, with players representing 43 states plus Canadian prospects. Each team played three games the final three days of the event after all position players are put through a showcase workout on Wednesday, the first day of the Future Games.
More than 300 colleges from across the country were looking on as approximately 500 players participated in this year’s event. This year, more than 450 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance.

The Two-Ways
Ethan Armstrong RHP / 3B / Garden City, MI / 2026Report: Legit two-way prospect at next level with a fastball sitting low-90s, up to 93 mph. Above average slider with plenty of S/M in game three. At the plate, power to both alleys, showcased by a ground rule double vs Team Indiana. Stout frame at 6-3 and strength in lower half. Tier I player. |
Carson Liedel RHP / 3B / Monroe, MI / 2026Report: Two-way prospect from Monroe HS. Strength is visible at plate, with a homer in game two to the pullside. Power fastball up to 93 mph, while throwing the slider for strikes with tight spin. Solid make up, determination. Throws with conviction. |
The Arms
Cole Duhaime LHP / OF / Brother Rice , MI / 2026Report: Top southpaw arm in the class, with the ability to work both sides of plate. Good spin rate on the fastball and slider. Flashed a changeup for a strike out in game. Fastball sits 85-87, topping 88 mph. Good make up. Tier I arm. Lots of upside. |
Jackson Gilbert RHP / OF / Avondale, MI / 2026Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 10
Report: Fastball at 87-89, with moderate arm speed. Solid frame with more to grow with life on fastball. Slurvy breaking ball that landed in for strikes. Chance to develop into a Tier I arm. |
Preston Kann RHP / SS / Standish Sterling Central, MI / 2026Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 14
Report: Fast arm with ability to spin the fastball and slider with higher spin rates. Good movements down slope and pace between pitches. Fastball sits 87-89, that jumps on hitters. Chance to be a Tier I arm. Young for his class and still adding strength. |

Report: Projectable southpaw from DCC. Three-pitch mix, with the fastball, curveball and changeup. Lots of upside as he showed some good run to the fastball. |

Report: Wiry framed arm from Forest Hills Eastern. Some life to the fastball with projectability coming off a good spring. |

Report: High ceiling that is still raw in areas. 82-84 righty that showed poise and confidence with changeup and breaking ball. 6-4 frame that will stretch out more. Chance to develop into a Tier I arm. |

Report: Thick frame with some pitchability and crossfire that causes some deception. Mid to upper-80s fastball with a sweeping slider. |

Report: Looser arm action down the mound. Solid arm in '26 class with a lot to like and development that will occur. Strike thrower. 87-89 on the fastball. |

Report: Upper-80s arm with feel for breaking ball. Consistent strike thrower on day 2 vs Team Indiana. Developing breaking ball and change up. Good body with upside to develop into solid arm. |

Report: Strong showing with solid feet in middle with average arm. Abillity to string together strong AB's and had a couple hits throughout the week. Instinctive base runner who led Team Michigan in stolen bags. |

Report: Above average around bag at first base with some feel to hit. Frame will continue to add strength. Good player all around |

Report: Athletic outfielder with good wheels. Ability to read ball off bat well. Good workout day with good arm and BP round producing plenty of linedrive, mainly to pull side. |

Report: Intriguing LH bat who can drive ball to opposite gap with some force. Average runner with ability to play corner outfield and an infield corner spot. Nice body that will tone up over off-season. |

Report: Strong showing from Tristan as he played a variety of positions this week. Reliable defender with feel to hit and good pitch selection. Best baseball is ahead of him entering junior season at Brother Rice. |
The Outfielders

Report: Top of chart arm strength for Ford at 90 mph and athletic tools with solid speed on base paths. Triple in Ohio match up and was able to show speed as he laced a ball into the left center gap. |

Report: Average defender in outfield with increasing speed. Shows some power to strong side of field. Average arm from the outfield that should increase over next few months. |

Report: Top 60 runner for Team Michigan with a 6.48. Solid performance at Future Games capping it off with a lead off homer in finale vs Team Ohio. Above average defender that can get jumps on balls. Solid at bats and discipline. Will see added strength over the next 6 months. |
