With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs

Team Name: University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs
Head Coach: Jimmy Mancuso
Division: I
2015 Record: 18-20
Conference Record: Catholic League 7-13
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/5

 Coach Outlook:

"Very excited for the season. It is a good group of guys. We hope to compete on a daily basis. There will be opportunities for our seniors to leave their mark on the program as well as the younger guys to make a name for themselves."

  • Pitching depth
  • Inexperienced

Daigoro OtakaTop Returning Players:

  • Dai Dai Otaka (pictured right), INF, 2016, R/R, Committed to Yale, 4-year starter, 2015 season shortened due to injury
  • Jared Demkowicz, undecided, 2016, L/R, player with a lot of upside, look for big things in his senior season.
  • Pierce Mueller, Committed to Lawrence Tech, R/R, 2016, solid, smart defender in OF, bat came around toward end of 2015 season, look for him to be a permanent fixture in outfield in 2016.
