2016 Spring Team Preview: Southfield Lathrup Chargers
Team Name: Southfield Lathrup Chargers
Head Coach: Darren Mosley
Division: I
2015 Record: 22-17
Conference Record: OAA Gold 13-2
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/3
2016 Team Strengths:
- Team strength will be pitching. Our top three pitchers return and our returning starters have played three years on varsity level. We will have four more players who will eat up a lot of inning this spring.
- We have very good team speed and will focus on playing good defense.
2016 Team Weaknesses:
- Team weakness will be the lack of overall depth due to the 10 players that have transferred due to the merging of the high schools for the 2016-2017 school year.
Coach Outlook: "We look to have a good season and compete for a OAA league championship. We have four starters coming back and our top three pitchers. Our only concern will be lack of depth due to the transferring of 10 players because of the merging of Lathrup and Southfield high schools. Three of the players were starters. We cannot afford to lose anybody for along period of time due to the lack of experienced backups."
