The Border Games At Wayne State University
Aaron Gonzalez, C/RHP, L’Anse Cruese HS, 2015
5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect. Over-the-top arm action with a closed landing slightly falling to the first base side. Fastball was 72-74, curveball 62-65 mph, and changeup at 63 mph. Setups well behind the plate with above average receiving skills and good blocking skills with pop times of 1.97-2.06. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and a 4.77 home to first. Athletic setup in the box keeping his hands inside the baseball well. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.
Billy Blair, RHP, St. Charles HS, 2016
6-foot, 220-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with good leverage and balance in delivery. Fastball has good arm-side run at 79-81 mph, curveball with late break at 67-69 mph, and changeup with some sink at 75-76 mph. Ran a 8.86 60-yard dash.
Chase Johnston, C, Mason HS, 2016
6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect. Good setup behind the plate creating a good frame for pitchers to throw to, soft hands receiving with quick hands on transfers allowing for a pop times of 2.10-2.17. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash and a 4.95 home to first. Open-to-even stance with good hand eye in a pull approach. Bat speed registers at 74 mph.
Chris Lowe, 2B/RHP, Dewitt HS, 2015
5-foot-10, 145-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with clean repeatable mechanics. Fastball with arm-side run at 72-74 mph, curveball with gradual break at 64-65 mph. Also throws a changeup at 65 mph. Athletic actions with quick hands and footwork at shortstop, threw 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and a 4.70 home to first. Good setup and rhythm at the plate with a short compact swing working the middle of the field. Bat speed registered at 75 mph.
Christian Yanish, RHP, 2B, UPSM, 2018
5-foot-9, 135-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot, wraps arm on backside, gets good movement on pitches. Fastball with some run at 65-68 mph, curveball with gradual break at 56-58 mph, and knuckle ball at 51-53 mph. Good range and glove work in the outfield, throwing 67 mph. Ran a 8.20 60-yard dash and a 5.09 home to first. Good plate discipline with a level bat path in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 66 mph.
Diaz Saunderson, 1B/LHP, Northville HS, 2016
6-foot-1, 177-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with good arm speed from the left side of the mound. Fastball had some arm-side run at 76-77 mph, curveball with gradual depth at 59-60 mph, and changeup with some sink at 62-63 mph. Soft hands with good range at first base, threw 65 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash and a 4.45 home to first. Creates good rhythm at the plate with leverage in his swing. Bat speed registered at 87 mph.
Dylan Babjack, OF/2B, Fraser HS, 2016
5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect. Quick fluid actions in the outfield with footwork and glove, threw 68 mph. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash and a 4.30 home to first. No stride with a short compact swing in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.
Eero Perkola, C/3B, Dakota HS, 2018
5-foot-9, 145-pound prospect. Good glove actions at third base with a short arm action throwing 67 mph across the infield. Plus receiving skills behind the plate getting directional well on throws to second base. Pop times of 2.22-2.30. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and a 5.20 home to first. Stays inside the baseball well at the plate using his lower half exceptionally well. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.
Ian Simek, 3B/1B, Lake Orion HS, 2016
5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect. Good range, soft hands and clean exchanges at third base while throwing 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 8.20 60-yard dash and a 4.77 home to first. Open-to-even stance with good use of lower half in an aggressive level swing. Bat speed registered at 84 mph.
Jack Palo, 3B/OF, South Lyon East HS, 2017
5-foot-8, 158-pound prospect. Athletic actions with footwork and glove at third base, high-¾ short arm action throwing 70 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash and a 4.66 home to first. Tall setup with an open-to-even toe tap stride. Short bat path to the baseball in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.
Jacob Lemelin, SS/OF , Woodhaven HS, 2017
5-foot-9, 137-pound prospect. Good actions with his glove with hands working out in front of body well. Short arm action throwing 63 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and 4.53 home to first. Quite load and stride with short compact line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.
Jacob Moore, RHP/1B, Wyandotte Roosevelt, 2015
6-foot-2, 208-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with downhill action, added lower half in delivery will add velocity. Fastball with some arm-side run at 77-78 mph, curveball at 70-71 mph, and changeup with some sink at 71 mph. Soft hands at first baseball with a long arm action throwing 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 8.60 60-yard dash and a 5.35 home to first. Narrow base with quick hands to the baseball in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.
Jonathan Murray, LHP/OF, Churchill HS, 2015
6-foot, 215-pound prospect. ¾ arm slot with good arm speed and repeatable mechanics in a deceptive delivery. Fastball has some movement at 69-72 mph, slurve at 58-60 mph, and changeup with some sink at 63 mph. Ran a 7.80 60-yard dash.
Josh Krstulovich, 1B, St. Thomas Aquinas (ON), 2016
6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect. Good actions at first base with his range and glove, threw 64 mph across the infield. Good setup at the plate with strength in his bat to the pull side. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.
Joshua Neposlan, RHP, Maranatha Christian (ON), 2014
6-foot, 155-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with solid mechanics and a quick tempo. Fastball has some arm-side run at 78-80 mph, 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 65-68 mph. Also throws a changeup with good sink and action at 64-66 mph. Ran a 7.60 60-yard dash.
Kevin Smith Jr. LHP/OF, University, 2016
5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect. High-¾ short arm action from the left side of the mound. Fastball sat 82-85, slider had sweeping action at 72-74 mph, and changeup with some sink at 73-77 mph. Glove and range are above average in the outfield with an accurate arm at 75 mph. Athletic actions at first base throwing 74 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash and a 4.76 home to first. Toe tap stride with strength in his bat to the pull side in a gap-to-gap approach. Bat speed registered at 90 mph.
Kyle Keller, 2B/MIF, Clarke Road (ON), 2016
5-foot-9, 147-pound prospect. Quick athletic actions at shortstop with his footwork, transfers, and glove. Short arm action throwing 67 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and a 4.60 home to first. Good setup at the plate with an excellent bat path using the whole field. Bat speed registered at 67 mph.
Max Stevenson, SS/RHP, Eisenhower HS, 2017
5-foot-10, 150-pound prospect. Over the top arm action getting down the slope well falling slightly to the first base side. Fastball sits 73-77 mph, 11/5 curveball is 64-66 mph, and changeup with some sink at 68-71 mph. Quick athletic actions at shortstop with footwork and glove. Short arm action throwing 66 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash and a 4.68 home to first. Good setup at the plate with short compact swing to all fields. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.
Noah Hengesbach, C/3B, Portland HS, 2016
6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect. Quick athletic twitch actions behind the plate with blocking, receiving, and throwing. Quick hands and footwork allow for a pop times of 1.96-2.05. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash and a 4.35 home to first. Hands load, uses lower half well in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 74 mph.
Trevor Trierwelier, LHP/OF, Portland HS, 2016
5-foot-7, 165-pound prospect. High-¾ short arm action with some effort from the left side of the mound. Kept fastball down in the zone well at 76-79 mph, curveball had good depth at 63-65 mph, and his changeup had some sink at 65 mph. Good actions with glove in outfield, accurate arm at 73 mph. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and a 4.62 home to first. Good setup at the plate from the left side, flat bat path through zone, can get out in front from time to time. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.
Zach Wilcox, RHP, Wilfrid Laurier SS (ON), 2015
6-foot-5, 192-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot working downhill well, stride foot lands on hill. Fastball has some arm-side run at 78-82 mph. 11/5 curveball with gradual depth at 66-68 mph. Changeup has good sink at 71-74 mph. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. High ceiling with projection in his long lanky build.
