THIS FUTURE GAMES SPOTLIGHT SERIES WILL HIGHLIGHT AND TAKE A DEEPER DIVE INTO THE PLAYER PERFORMANCES FROM TEAM MARYLAND'S WEEK AT FUTURE GAMES.

Trenton Mueck RHP / OF / Loyola Blakefield, MD / 2026

It was a breakout performance for the long, lean 6-foot-5, 155-pound righty at this year's Future Games, as Mueck showcased a strong three-pitch mix with plenty of projection in both the body and the actions. The fastball works to both sides of the plate with more feel to the arm side, showcasing occasional run into right-handed hitters in the mid to upper 80s. The curveball plays down in the zone, creating consistent weak contact with the ability to keep hitters off balance. For me, the splitter is the difference maker; a killed spin change of speed that pounds the knees that could easily turn into a plus pitch in the coming years as the feel and confidence increase.

As the frame fills out and the lower half gets stronger, the velocity will quickly rise. This could be a "dark horse" in a loaded 2026 class of arms in Maryland that should continue to get better as time comes.
