VA/MD Future Games Follow Up: Kristan Curry Jr

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for rising junior and select rising sophomore prospects. This year close to 200 college and professional scouts from all over the country were in attendance. The Prep Baseball Report services are subscribed by more than 500 colleges and professional scouts.

2015 marked the first year players from the PBR Maryland and PBR Virginia areas of coverage formed a team. Many of the players recruitment has picked up since the event. Today we look at 2017 SS/OF Kristan Curry Jr.

Scouting Report

7.30.15 - Solid and athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. Hits from an athletic set up with a short bat path and some bat speed. Shows some rhythm and has a short stride and quick load. Can get more lower half involvement. Gap-to-gap type hitter. Exit velocity of 82 mph. Active feet with solid actions. Short arm action throwing from a high three-quarters arm angle. Throws were accurate with some carry at 75 mph. Plays thru the ball well.  Some raw ability still in the player that has athleticism to play multiple positions.

FOLLOW UP

What Schools have you been hearing from?
+After the future games, I was contacted by Central Michigan University and they have been keeping in touch with me on a weekly basis. I have also received communications from Eastern Kentucky University, Campbell, Ferrum, VMI, and Winthrop .

Have you been on any visits?
+I haven't been on any college visits yet, but I plan on visiting a few this winter.

Do you have any visits scheduled?
+No I don't have any college visits scheduled at the moment but I am hoping to visit CMU soon.

Have any offers been made at this stage?
 +No I haven't received any offers yet.

What is your timeline for your decision?
+I am hoping to make a decision by the end of next summer before my senior year.

Describe your Future Games Experience:
+At first it was very intense due to the amount of scouts but then turned out to be the best baseball event I have attended. The competition level was great and the exposure it provides exceeded expectation. It was well organized and the gear that the players received was amazing.

Would you recommend to others to attend the Future Games?
+Yes  would definitely recommend the Future Games others.

Where are you at academically at this time?
+Currently I have a 3.8 GPA and plan to take the ACT in the spring of 2016.
