Updated 2018 Maryland/Delaware Rankings Released

Today we set our sights on the 2018 class in our updated rankings. This update we now expand to the top 70 players in the state from what our boots-on-the-ground scouting approach has been able to find across the area. Again there is movement across the board as new talents are being discovered and evaluated.

Staying at the top of our rankings for the 2018 class is RHP/OF Austin Elliott. The Cape Henlopen star has been putting together another strong sophomore campaign and is one of the top uncommitted players in Delaware. Teammate Zack Gelof moves back up into the No. 2 spot ahead of current No. 3 Stephen Pelli with Bryce Greenley at No. 4. All four of these players could see themselves battling between the top four slots as their careers continue as all are high caliber talent and head up a strong 2018 class in the Maryland / Delaware area.

Newcomer to the top 10 sees Gilman’s sophomore talent 3B/RHP Maxwell Costes entering the rankings in the No. 9 spot. Costes has been a big contributor for the Greyhounds campaign this 2016 season as a steady bat in the lineup in the middle of the order. He has seen his stock rise this spring and is the younger brother of 2015 No. 6 ranked player Marty Costes.

Other top newcomers to the 2018 rankings include Cole Dunn (Middletown HS, DE), Jeremy Carrow (Smyrna HS, DE), Jeremy Lapp-Barger (Century HS, MD), Ryan Archibald (John Carroll, MD) and Trendon Craig (Dematha, MD). Movers in the rankings include John Dempsey (Georgetown Prep, MD), Brandon Cook (St. Mary’s HS, MD). Here is your sneak peek at the top ten.
