The 2015 Prep Baseball Report Maryland Underclass Trials took place on Tuesday, August 11th at the Diamond Pros Facility in Glen Arm, MD. 25 prospects from Delaware and Maryland area in the 2017-2019 class put their ability on display in front of the PBR scouting staff and college coaches from around the area.

Over the course of the week we will be releasing the positional analysis articles with scouting reports on each player and identifying the top performers. We shall identify top performers along with a younger talent (2018, 2019) as a Future Watch if applicable.
Today we look at the Outfielders that participated in the event. Let???s take a look at the participants.
TOP PERFORMERS
JP Murphy (pictured) OF/RHP Calvert Hall 2018
Athletic frame with room to grow and fill out at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Hits from a tall balanced set up. Nice rhythm throughout swing. Simple load and stride to hitting position. Level path to the ball with fast bat speed. Shows pop to the pull side with gap-to-gap power potential. Exit velocity of 91 mph. From the outfield has active feet with clean hands and exchange. Plays thru the ball with a loose arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Shows first step quickness. Throws have carry at 84 mph. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash.
Brandon Cook OF/RHP St. Mary???s 2018
Athletic frame at 6-foot-1 165 pounds. Switch hitting prospect is more developed from the right side and shows better rhythm. Hits from a balanced set up slightly open. Level path to the ball with some lower half usage. Get a bit of extension and looks to have potential pop. Best exit velocity was from right side at 84 mph. Hits from a balanced set up from left side. Level bat path to contact with average bat speed. Average balance and slightly stiff on the left side. From the outfield has active feet with sound hands and exchange. Plays thru the ball well with a loose arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had life on them at 88 mph. Will get even faster as he improves first step. Ran a 6.81 60-yard dash.
Tommy Holcomb OF/3B Archbishop Curley 2017
Athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds. Hits from an open set up stays slightly open after short load and stride. Level bat path with quick bat speed. Average balance throughout swing and average lower half usage. Shows pull side power potential. Exit velocity up to 84 mph. Sound footwork with clean exchange from the outfield. Plays thru the ball and has a short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws have carry at 83 mph.
FUTURE WATCH
Myles Christian OF/2B St. Mary???s 2018
Athletic frame with room to fill out at 5-foot-10 140-pounds. Hits from a balance set up with high hands. Smooth, simple load with short stride to balance. Short pat to the ball with some bat speed. Gets some lower half usage and has average balance throughout swing. Exit velocity of 78 mph. From the outfield has has active feet with soft hands and clean exchange. Plays through the ball with a short arm action throwing from a ¾ arm angle. Outfield velocity of 70 mph. From the infield, has smooth actions with soft hands and a clean exchange. Infield velocity of 70 mph. Strong foundation in this prospect and as he gets stronger will be interesting to monitor. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash.

Athletic frame at 5-foot-10 170-pounds. Hits from a balanced set up. Short load and stride to hitting position. Level swing path with average bat speed. Has some balance in swing and shows gap-to-gap ability. Exit velocity of 80 mph. From the outfield has sound footwork and exchange. Plays thru the ball with a short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 80 mph. ran a 7.22 60-yard dash.
Cody Horsmon OF/C Calvert 2017
Athletic, solid frame at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds. Hits from a slightly open set up with rhythm. Short load and stride to hitting position. Gets some lower half usage. Level bat path with quick hands. Exit velocity of 75 mph. Sound footwork from the outfield. Shows clean exchange and works thru the ball well. Short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 78 mph. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash.
Sean Sullivan OF/2B St. Johns College 2017
Compact frame at 5-foot-7 140-pounds. Hits from a balanced set up in athletic position. Short load and stride to hitting position. Short bat path with quick hands and average bat speed. Has some rhythm and is longer through contact. Exit velocity of 79 mph. Confident first step and active feet in the outfield. Sound hands and exchange with a long arm action throwing from an almost over the top arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 75 mph. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash.
Will Vickers OF Bishop McNamara 2017
Athletic frame at 6-foot, 165-pounds. Hits from a tall balance set up with high hands. Short load with a leg kick to hitting position. Level swing path that gets slightly uphill. Shows some bat speed and stayed inside the ball well. Shows balance throughout swing. Exit velocity of 77 mph. Active feet from the outfield with sound hands and clean exchange. Long arm action with slight pause. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 80 mph. Ran a 7.44 60 yard dash.
