The inaugural Top Prospect Games for PBR Maryland was a great success. 50 talented players in the Maryland / Delaware area were in attendance to showcase their skills and ability. Today we look at a few of the players that increased their stock after the event.

Zach Adams C Stephen Decatur 2016
Adams showed off some of the best catcher velocity at 77 mph that translated into a 2.01 as his best pop time. Had a level swing and barrel stayed in zone. Showed pop in bat with 89 mph exit velocity.

Joseph Haass RHP Polytech 2017
The pitcher put on a nice show during the games topping out at 87 mph with some late run on his fastball.  His arm worked well and as he fills out his frame looks should increase some velocity. Pitches with some effort with a fluid rhythm.

Lavale Hodges OF Archbishop Spalding 2016
Hodges put on a nice display during the day getting up to 84 mph from the outfield and a 91 mph exit velocity.  At the plate he hit from a balanced set up and fluid rhythm.  Showed a short swing that with consistent barrel control will only get better. The outfielder has an athletic frame and shows good lateral quickness along with a quick first step.  Projects to be a strong gap-to-gap hitter with pop.

Jordan Hutchins SS Dover 2016
The middle infielder had one of the more impressive workouts overall.  Showing sound footwork and a quick exchange with throws across the diamond at 83 mph.  Offensively has a short path to the ball with quick bat speed and some extension through contact.

James Moses OF/LHP Loyola-Blakefield 2017
Compact frame with fluid rhythm at the plate and a disciplined approach.  Short swing with some bat speed. Gets barrel on the ball and uses the whole field with gap-to-gap hitting style.  Also pitched well from the left side with late life and run on his fastball.

Michael Richardson SS Cambridge South Dorchester 2016
Showed quick feet and clean actions from the shortstop position.  Has added some bulk to his frame that did not take away from his athleticism.  Had good balance in swing along with a short path and quick bat speed.

Miguel Rivera RHP Polytech 2017
The righty sat 84 most of the day and hit 87 once.  A free arm action that works downhill very well.  Breaking ball with close to 12/6 action and sharp rotation.  More room in the frame to grow and fill out.

Jack Roberts SS St. John’s 2017
Roberts showed a short swing with quick bat speed and an advanced approach during the games. Sound defensive skills and throws had some carry across the infield. The Middletown, MD native potentially projects at third base in the future, the sweet swinging lefty looks to be a nice prospect in the 2017 class.
