Scouting Report
Preseason All-State Session III
Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5’8”, 150 pounds. Athletic
Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance form the left side. Small leg kick load and compact slightly uphill swing. Showed quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with good balance and gets nice extension past contact. Generates some lower half involvement and finishes swing with one hand. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with pop.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Power to the alleys with more projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork and fields it out in front on the glove hand side.
Run: 3.90 home-to-first time.
Delivery: Starts with a quick rocker side step, into a chest high leg kick. Delivery was fluid and overall athleticism was present during all portions. Low effort with the delivery, with above average torque out of his lower half. Glove separation was on time and in line with his delivery. Ended in a good, athletic fielding position.
Arm Action: RH. Throws down hill out of a mid three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T79 mph, 76-79 mph. Deceptive action and release point.
CB: 65-67 mph. Tight, 11/5 shape.
CH: 69-70 mph. Thrown infrequently but with fade.
MD Preseason All State
Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 145-pounds. Hits from the left side with a square stance. Small pick up and put down landing on line, hands load back with bat going vertical at separation, and was short to the ball. Bat plane had some uphill tilt to it and used the middle of the field well, staying on the ball through extension. Exit velo was 79 mph. Feet were choppy on approach as he broke down pre-catch. Clean exchange with a longer arm action and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 82 mph. Home-1st time was 4.25.
