TEAM STRENGTHS
Boonsboro is expecting a lot of big things with their offense this year. They have a good combination of power and speed which translates to a competitive lineup from top to bottom. This season Boonsboro returns eight starters to their lineup with most of them having a lot of experience at the varsity level. The defense is another strength and SS Dalton Stewart, a Penn State commit in the 2016 class, is a strong force in the middle.
QUESTION MARK
Boonesboro has very good team speed but they need to focus on improving their base running to utilize that speed. Last season they lost several games because of careless base-running mistakes. Look for an early focus on the base paths so this team can improve and avoid taking away their own runs.
WILDCARD
RHP Zayne Blickenstaff is a third year varsity starter who is expected to anchor the pitching staff again this year. Blickenstaff had some tough luck defensively last year and could have had 3 or 4 more wins because of that. If Blickenstaff performs similar to last year he could be one of the top pitchers in the MVAL.
OVERALL
The Warriors have experienced their growing pains of the past and this season could very well be the year they take a step forward in the MVAL. If Blickenstaff and the pitching staff can keep opposing teams in check, this team could win their fair share of games. Boonsboro will be an interesting team to follow and see how they have grown in the 2015 season.
