Tuscarora HS senior Noah Tucker committed to Concord University. Tuscarora played with the Mid-Atlantic Redsox over the summer and was kind enough to take time out for PBR Maryland and let us all get to know him better.
Why did you choose Concord?
--I chose Concord due to the structure of the baseball program and Coach Wright's philosophies to support a winning team. Concord's Athletic Training program also met my academic needs and expectations.
What other schools were you considering?
--Bridgewater College, McDaniel, Frostburg St. University, Eastern Mennonite University
Now that your commitment is over, what are your goals for your senior year?
--To continue and finish this portion of my academic goals and to contribute to successful season with my High School team, hoping both prepare me for my next step to Concord
What would you like to get accomplished before you step on campus at Concord?
--After Tuscarora I will focus on preparing myself in order to make the best impression possible my fall season at Concord
Who did you play for over the summer and what was your most memorable experience?
--The Mid-Atlantic Red Sox. The group of players that I had the privilege of playing baseball with stands out as the most memorable experience.
Who has been the most influential person over your baseball career and why?
--I have to say that my parents have been my greatest influence. They acted as the basis of my support. I never wonder who my biggest fans are.
What are you going to bring to Concord as a freshman?
--A tremendous competitive nature.
What is your goal by the end of your freshman year? By the end of your college career?
--My main goal is to have the best grades possible my freshman year. Of course I will work as hard to succeed in the Baseball program, but my first priority is to graduate. If I continue to grow as a Baseball player and my achievements at school help me to earn a degree, then I have accomplished my first goal. If I become a starter and play at a higher level than I do now, then no one will ever take that from me.
