This year's Junior Future Trials at the Maryland Sportsplex featured over 40 players from across the Old Line State, Delaware and Virginia. Players participated in a pro-style workout and threw bullpens in front of our PBR Maryland and Mid-Atlantic staff. Below are evaluations on the nine catchers at the event.

Dallas Brooks C / RHP / John Carroll, MD / 2025
Body: 6’0’’, 160 pounds. Tall, lanky, athletic frame. Hit: LHH. Hits from a tall, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth, rhythmic back load with some hand separation and an in to out toe-tap stride. Hands are direct to contact with explosion through the zone. Quick bat speed with solid balance and really nice extension through the zone and past contact. Stays behind the ball well and keeps the hands inside with a strong middle of the field line drive approach. Strong one handed finish. Power: 86 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Strength is present to the pull side gap with more projected as his body continues to fill out. Arm: RH. C - 69 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.15 - 2.32. Replaces feet well with some momentum towards the target. Clean transfers with quick releases and accurate throws to the bag. Run: 7.91 60-Yard Time.

Jayden Dennis C / 3B / Our Lady of Good Counsel , MD / 2025
Body: 5’8’’, 145 pounds. Athletic body type. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate. Smooth back load with some hand separation and a more level swing path through the zone. Stays on the ball well with a solid middle of the field line drive approach. Power: 75 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Arm: RH. C - 58 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.55 - 2.78. Replaces feet well with quick, clean exchanges and accurate throws to the bag. Run: 8.91 60-Yard Time.

Parker Friend C / RHP / St. John�s College, MD / 2025
Body: 5’10’’, 193 pounds. Strong body type. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate. Smooth, rhythmic back load with some hand separation and a shorter stride. Hands are direct to contact with a level swing path and some bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with quick twitch actions and some lower half involvement. Strong gap-to-gap line drive approach with strength shown to the pull side. Power: 90 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present pop to the pull side with more projected. Arm: RH. C - 69 mph. Throws with short, quick arm action from a three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 1.96 - 2.27. Replaces feet well with some momentum towards the target. Quick, mostly clean exchanges with throws that showed accuracy to the bag. Sticks it well behind the dish with really nice block and recover abilities. Run: 7.85 60-Yard Time.

Cameron Leach C / 3B / John Carroll, MD / 2025
Body: 5’7’’, 155 pounds. Athletic body type. Hit: Switch. From the left side, he hits from a balanced, upright, slightly open stance at the dish. Smooth back load with solid hand separation and a smaller leg kick load. Hands stay inside the ball well with an uphill swing path and a solid middle of the field approach. From the right side, he hits from a balanced, upright, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with solid hand separation and quick hands through contact. Slightly uphill swing path, staying behind the ball with a more pull side approach. Power: 77 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Arm: RH. C - 68 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.22- 2.46. Gains ground well to the target and replaces feet. Clean, quick exchanges with accurate throws. Run: 7.58 60-Yard Time.

Cruz Luna C / OF / Undecided, MD / 2026
Body: 5’8’’, 148 pounds. Athletic body type. Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate. Smooth, quick back load with solid hand separation and a direct path to contact. More level swing path and keeps hands inside the ball nicely with line drive tendencies mostly to the middle of the field. Creates some extension pats contact with a one handed finish. Power: 83 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Pop to the pull side is projected as the body continues to fill out. Arm: RH. C - 67 mph. Shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.25 - 2.45. Replaces feet well and gains some ground towards the target. Clean exchanges with mostly accurate throws to the bag. Run: 7.65 60-Yard Time.

Zachary Roach C / 3B / Walter Johnson, MD / 2025
Body: 5’9’’, 170 pounds. Strong, athletic body frame. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly closed stance at the plate. Smooth, quick back load with some hand separation and a short stride. Slightly uphill swing path with a slight recoil past contact. Hands are quick through the zone with some bat speed and a solid gap-to-gap approach. High two-handed finish. Power: 79 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Arm: RH. C - 67 mph. Shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.15 - 2.34. Replaces feet well with some momentum towards the target. Exchanges are quick and throws showed accuracy to the bag. Run: 7.60 60-Yard Time.

Cade Schuetter C / 3B / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2025
Body: 6’0’’, 160 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, tall, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with some hand separation and a short stride. Level swing path with quick hands and some bat speed through contact with balance throughout. Stays behind the ball well, creating some extension through contact and a solid middle of the field line drive approach. Strong one handed finish. Power: 86 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Some pull side pop with more projected as his body continues to fill out. Arm: RH. C - 73 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a low three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.12 - 2.28. Replaces feet well and creates solid momentum towards the target. Quick, clean exchanges with throws that showed carry and some accuracy to the bag. Run: 7.17 60-Yard Time.

Brayden Tidwell C / 3B / Sussex Academy, DE / 2025
Body: 5’10’’, 145 pounds. Lanky, athletic build. Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with slight weight transfer and a shorter stride. Quick hands through contact with a slightly uphill swing path and solid extension past contact. Keeps his hands inside the ball well and stays behind it with solid balance throughout. Middle of the field gap-to-gap approach and a strong one handed finish. Power: 79 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Some pull side pop with more projected as his body continues to fill out. Arm: RH. C - 68 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from an over the top slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.25 - 2.41. Replaces feet well and gains some ground on throws to the bag with accuracy. Run: 7.90 60-Yard Time.

Will Tighe C / 3B / Paul VI, VA / 2025
Body: 5’9’’, 160 pounds. Athletic body type. Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly closed stance at the plate. Rhythmic back load with some hand wiggle and solid hand separation into quick hands through contact. Showed some feel for the barrel with a slightly uphill swing path. Some lower half involvement, creating solid extension through contact and a solid middle of the field line drive approach. Power: 83 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Some present pop to the middle of the field with more projected as he builds muscle to the frame. Arm: RH. C - 67 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Defense: Pop times ranged 2.39 - 2.49. Creates solid momentum towards the target and replaces feet well with quick, clean exchanges and accurate throws to the bag. Run: 8.44 60-Yard Time.
