3.28.22: Got the start for Northwest in their game against a loaded and high powered offense in Churchill. The arm works quick through release, pitching with intent with longer, loose arm action. The fastball plays both sides of the plate, with feel to the arm side at 86-88 topping out at 89 mph. The best secondary pitch that we have seen in the past is the bigger 12/6 breaker, but the feel for the pitch was not on this day, but did mix it in a few times at 71-72 mph. 3.21.22: There is plenty to like out of the physical two-way from Sherwood. A former PBR Future Game participant, Allen possesses a physical frame with a short, explosive stroke from the left side. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched stance with the hands pre-set at the top of the zone. Short, quick leg kick stride with some hand separation and quick twitch. The hands work quick and explode through contact, creating excellent lift to the pull side. Came through in the clutch for the Warriors, hitting a go ahead grand slam in the fifth inning to give Sherwood the lead that they never relinquished.

3.21.22: Came in to close the game out for Sherwood in their 9-4 victory over Urbana. Short side-step windup with a high leg kick into a tall balance point. Full arm circle through release from an over the top slot, showcasing the ability to get over the front side consistently. Pounded the zone early and often, showcasing excellent feel for the fastball to both sides of the plate at 81-83, mixing in a bigger breaking ball for strikes at 67-69 mph.

Steven Tameris RHP 2022 (Frostburg State)
3.21.22: The competitiveness and “bulldog” like mentality is always a pleasure to see out of Tameris, as he got the start for Sherwood in their game against Urbana. The feel for the zone was not the sharpest we’ve seen in years past, as the fastball and breaking ball command was scattered. Pitches out of the stretch with a tough low three-quarter slot through release. The fastball showcases present and consistent arm side run at 82-84 mph, mixing in a tight slider at 73-74 mph. The breaking ball showed promise when in or around the zone, inducing swing and misses throughout the outing. Also featured a changeup at 75-76 that showed some late dive action.

Tough low 3/4 slot showcasing some ASR w/ the FB at 82-84. SL showing some late bite w/ some S/M tendencies to it at 73-74. CH showcasing excellent dive action at 75-76. @PBRMaryland pic.twitter.com/Mqb8ZA3tic
3.22.22 (Hitting): One of the more prolific two-way players in the state, the Wake Forest commit showcases a sound ability to hit for power to all fields, with doubles strength to the gaps and alleys. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched stance from the left side, utilizing a smooth back load with excellent hand separation. The barrel gets through the zone quickly with fast hands and a slightly uphill swing path, showcasing quick twitch actions throughout. The athleticism is eye-opening in all facets, hitting two doubles in the game against Gilman.

3.22.22 (Pitching): Came out of the ‘pen in the 7th inning with the score tied, working a scoreless frame, allowing the St. Paul’s offense to walk it off in the bottom half of the inning. The arm works quick with some whip through release from a tough three-quarter slot. Releases slightly cross-body, inducing some deception with the fastball. Worked predominantly with the fastball throughout his inning of work, mixing to both sides of the plate effectively at 88-91. The fastball exploded out of the hand with ride and run, inducing weak contact and plenty of swing and miss. A ton to like on both sides of the ball.

John Padousis C 2022 (Stevenson)
3.22.22: Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched stance with some rhythm in the hands. Smooth, quiet back load, showcasing the ability to cover the outside pitch. Attacks the ball with authority, with some hand speed through contact and a more level bat path. Walked it off for St. Paul’s in their game against Gilman with a deep sac fly to center field.

3.21.22: The strength and physicality added to the frame is eye-opening, and has really transformed Smith’s game in every aspect. Smith possesses plus speed and athleticism, showcasing the ability to impact the game in all aspects. Hits from a relaxed, slightly open stance with the hands set low, creating solid hand separation with a smooth, fluid back load. Showcases explosion out of the lower half, utilizing strong hands and whippy barrel speed as he uses the whole field effectively. Doubles strength for now, however look for the power to continue to increase as strength is continued to be added to the frame.

Brendan Yagesh LHP/1B 2022 (Mount St. Mary’s)
3.21.22: The lean, projectable 6-2 southpaw got the start for Urbana in their game against Sherwood on opening day for public schools in Maryland. Works out of an up-tempo, short side step windup with a full arm circle release. Attacks hitters with confidence, filling up the zone early and often with a solid two-pitch mix. The fastball came out of the hand well and worked heavy through the zone, showcasing feel to both sides of the plate at 87-88, topping out at 89 mph. The breaking ball was thrown with confidence, showcasing tight 1/7 shape with some late depth at 70-71. Worked four innings of no hit ball, striking out seven while scattering two hits.
