Yesterday we released our updated Class of 2021 Rankings. In all, 75 new faces were added; more than doubling the list to 125 players from across the Old Line State and Delaware. Today we spotlight the nine players that rose in the updated rankings beginning with out new No. 1 Peter Heubeck (Wake Forest) from Gilman. In addition to Heubeck, Middletown's Zack Martin (Maryland) and Catoctin's Mason Albright (Virginia Tech) also rose a couple spots inside the top ten to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
Two players fresh off summer commitments also rose with Gilman RHP Matt Leikus (James Madison) moving up four spots to No. 13 and St. Maria Goretti OF/LHP Jason Rivera (Mount St. Mary's) up 17 spots to No. 23.
Rounding out the remaining four risers in this updated edition are RHP Evan Truitt from Stephen Decatur up 18 spots to No. 20, LHP Evan Marcinko from McDonogh up nine spots to No. 21, RHP/C Trevor Yusko from Thomas Johnson up 17 spots to No. 27, and OF/LHP Cian Sahler from Georgetown Prep up six spots to No. 28.

MD Preseason All State
Projectable athletic frame at 6-foot, 165-pounds. Ran a quick 4.03 Home-1st. Athletic setup from the left side with a small stride landing slightly closed. Hands are quick and show strength through contact. Bat path is slightly uphill, stays on the ball through extension, and has explosion in the lower half. Maintains balance throughout the swing and displayed big time pop and present pull side power. Exit velocity was 98 mph. Active on approach with solid glove presentation and uses a higher crow hop with a clean exchange. Arm action was clean with some arm speed and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot at 88 mph. Is an elite prospect with some projection still left to the body and will be exciting to watch him continue to grow. Small rocker step from the delivery with a high balance point gathered over the rubber. Delivery has some pace and intent with shoulders slightly uphill and lands closed at foot strike. Displayed arm speed throwing from a three-quarter arm slot with a recoil at finish. Fastball had life and came out of the hand easy at 81-82 mph and topped at 83. Curveball sat at 65-68 with average arm speed and 11/5 shaped. Changeup showed fastball arm speed and intent sitting at 74-78 mph and was downhill. Martin has a live arm and looks to have more in the tank as he continues to grow and add strength.
Athletic 5-foot-10, 155 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load and short stride. Creates nice separation. Short, compact uphill swing path and gets good extension through contact. Stays behind the ball well and shows good balance throughout swing. Led off game one for the Red Sox with a laser to RF and scored the game’s only run. Gap-to-gap type hitter with some pop. Uses the whole field well.
Freshman Free Showcase
Athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds. Offensively hits from a slightly open set up with high hands above should and nice rhythm in stance. Small leg kick load with knee turn in. Nice balance and repeat ability at the plate. Level path that can get long at times, but shows fast bat speed through the zone and extension through contact. Pull side power potential. ---- On the mound has a controlled delivery with higher leg kick into hip load. Slight pause at lift height. Longer loose arm actions throwing from a high three quarter slot. Creates fast arm speed through release. Nice lower half involvement. Maybe could get more hip involvement over front side. Fastball has slight run to the pitch at 80 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break at 58 mph. Change up has fade to the pitch at 60 mph. Throws knuckle as well at 57 mph. A top Performer at the event, one to keep an eye on in the 2021 class.

MD Eastern Shore Showcase 10.21.18
Athletic body type and 5-foot-10, 150 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open stance at the plate. Short back load and average stride length. Gets uphill at contact and on front side. Showed some lower half involvement and bat speed. Level swing path with an exit velo of 75 mph. Line drive type hitter and took two solid rounds of BP squaring up several balls. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork. Showed clean exchanges throwing with long arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 81 mph. Controlled side-step wind and high leg kick into a tall balance position. Clean hand separation and strong down to out lower half drive. Nice rhythm in delivery generating quick arm speed through release. Gets over front side well landing square to home plate with an athletic finish. Long, loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarters slot with easy effort. Fastball sat 77-79 mph with some arm side run and breaking ball showed gradual 12/6 break at 60-63 mph. Showed good feel and command for change-up that was 68-71 with some fade.

1/15/18 Freshman Free Showcase
Projectable strong frame at 6-foot-1, 205-pounds. At the plats its an athletic set p with high hands at shoulder level and weight stacked slightly back. A short stride forward while keeping balance to hitting position. Shorter path at the plat with free hands and whip through extension. Power potential in the swing. Keeps nice balance. Sound actions defensively, clean around the bag. 60-time gets lower shows potential as an outfielder. Arm strength was present interesting pitching prospect to also monitor. One of top performers at the event.

MD Top Prospect Games West
Strong, athletic body type and projectable 5’11’’, 163 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, square stance from the left side. Smooth back load with good hand separation. Explosive lower half involvement with excellent balance throughout the swing. Stays behind the ball well with quick hands, fast bat speed, and an uphill swing path. Short to the ball with good extension and a strong finish. Very nice gap-to-gap approach with power present to all fields. Recorded an 89 mph exit velocity. Attacks the ball in the outfield with quick footwork and showed clean exchanges. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 84 mph. Ball showed some life and carry to the plate. Ran a 6.97 60-yard time. Slightly up-tempo, side-step wind-up and high leg kick into a tall, compact balance point. Smooth down-to-out lower half drive and excellent extension. Throws downhill and gets over front side well. Lands square to the plate with an athletic finish. Throws with long, loose arm action from a high three-quarter slot with easy effort and creates quick arm speed through release. Fastball sat 78-80 mph and touched 81 mph. Breaking ball was 66-69 mph with tight 11/5 shape and changeup showed some late dive at 67-69 mph.
Athletic body type and projectable 5'11'', 162 pound frame. Beautiful swing from the left side of the plate. Starts from a balanced, slightly open stance. Loads hands with rhythm and stays behind the ball very well. Short, natural uphill swing path with some lower half involvement and nice extension to follow through. Hitting .390 thus far this season and is also a nice LHP that gets it up to 80 mph with solid off-speed.
MD Preseason All State
5-foot-11, 162-pound projectable athletic frame. Athletic square stance hitting from the left side. Hands load back with some rhythm, small pickup to striding slightly closed, and short path to the ball. Slightly uphill bat path, high finish, and stays on the ball through extension. Swing has some gap to gap potential with some projection to add strength and power to the frame. Exit velocity was 89 mph. Active and under control on approach to catch, clean exchange, and a crow hop to explode through the throw. Arm action was longer and showed some arm speed throwing from a low three-quarter arm slot at 84 mph. Home-1st time displayed some quickness with a 4.08.
MD Eastern Shore Showcase
Athletic body type and 5-foot-10, 150 pound frame. Hits from the left side in a balanced, athletic, square stance. Sinks upper body slightly into a compact position during load. Short stride and strong lower half involvement in swing. Short, slightly uphill swing path and fast bat speed. Whips barrel through the zone with an 82 mph exit velo. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with occasional pop. Stays behind the ball really well with good balance and gets good extension through contact. Plays through the ball in the outfield with quick fundamental footwork. Showed quick, clean exchanges and throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarters slot at 78 mph. Ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Up-tempo side-step wind-up and high leg kick into a tall balanced position. Clean hand separation and strong lower half drive. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarters slot with easy effort. Lands square to the plate with an athletic finish. Showed some arm speed through release. Fastball sat 77-78 mph, breaking ball had short 12/6 break at 71-74 mph, and change-up was 71-72 mph.
Scouting Report
Tall, athletic body type and 6'1'', 180 pound frame. Hits from a tall, balanced stance with bat head resting on back shoulder. Quick, high leg kick load landing open at foot strike. Drops hands during load and showed quick bat speed with a short, level swing path. Stays behind the ball well and showed some gap-pop. Went 1-for-4 on the day with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
MD Preseason All State
Long athletic body at 6-foot-1, 181-pounds. Athletic slightly closed stance with a knee to knee leg kick, landing closed at stride. Load has some violence to it with a low hand load and arm bar proceeding to dive in to the plate. Pull side tendency with intent to do damage when he swings. Slightly uphill path with a high finish and an exit velo of 89 mph showing some power potential. Home-to-first time was 4.79. Got out of the crouch quick with a low exchange and average arm action. Showed some arm speed and threw from a high three-quarter arm slot at 74 mph. Throws showed some carry with pops ranging 2.06 - 2.14. Right handed pitcher with a low effort delivery. Balance point is a bit rushed as tends to drift towards home plate before getting to a consistent leg lift. Lands closed off, short arm action, and throws from an over the top arm slot. Fastball was 75-77 and topped at 79 mph. Curveball had depth with a 12/6 shape at 61-64 mph. Changeup lacked arm speed, but showed an average feel for it at 63-65 mph.
MD Fall Invitational
Athletic body type and 6-foot-1, 181 pound frame with room to grow. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly closed stance. Lowers hands in load to chest height and takes a medium-sized inverted leg kick with a short stride. Hands and bat are short to the ball with a slightly uphill swing path. Showed quick bat speed, some lower half involvement, and really nice extension through contact. Gap-to-gap type hitter with power to the pull-side. Exit velo was 82 mph. Quiet body behind the plate receiving. Quick footwork and exchange on throws to second base. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 70 mph. Showed accuracy on throws with pop times ranging 2.02-2.13. Controlled wind-up and high leg kick into a tall, compact balance point. Clean hand separation with strong lower half drive off the rubber. Creates quick arm speed through release. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot with easy effort. Lands square to the plate with an athletic finish. Fastball sat 77-78 mph. Breaking ball showed big 11/5 shape and gradual break at 65-70 mph.

2019 Diamondskills All-American Camp 1/19/2019
5-foot-9, 150-pound solid frame. On the mound setup is relaxed and athletic with high balance point with repeatable mechanics. Lands in line after a more up-down-out move home. Showed arm speed on a short quick arm action with a low three-quarter arm slot. Has ability to throw three pitches for strikes, two of which are legitimate offspeed pitches. Fastball sat between 75-77 mph and got up to 80 mph a few times with late arm side run. Curveball and changeup both showed consistent arm speed and slot. The curveball was tight with 1/7 shape and sat between 68-69 mph. Changeup was firm at 71-73 mph and showed late life. At the plate showed an open athletic stance with hands relaxed and set low. Gets hands up on load, strides in to a closed stance which stops lower half from finishing completely. Hands are quick through the zone and there is some whip in the bat as it gets through. Showed ability to work line drives with a flat bat path through contact. Exit velocity was 82 mph. In the outfield had an active yet controlled approach to the catch then utilizing a pro-hop to release. The pace picked up on exchange and showed a quick arm from a high three-quarter arm slot with some arm speed. Positional velocity was 82 mph. Ran the 60 in 7.63.

Scouting Report
Heubeck went five innings for the win allowing two runs on three hits and walked four. He struck out seven total and threw 57 percent of his pitches for strikes. Athletic, lanky body type with nice projection and plenty of room to grow and fill out. Short, quick wind-up and leg kick into a tall balance position with hands set at chest level. Strong lower half drive and long, loose, clean arm action. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with easy effort and lands square to the plate with a quarter turn in finish. Fastball jumps out of his hand and sat 89-91 touching 92 twice and 94 twice in the first inning. Settled in more at 86-88 for the reminder of the game with the ability to pump it up to 89-91 when he wanted. Two-seam showed nice arm side run at 82-85 mph and breaking ball sat 74-77 mph with tight 11/5 shape.
