The Maryland Insider covers a wide variety of information on players in the state. We will cover events, players to watch, rankings, best in class, and many more topics that will cover the many levels of high school baseball.

The first event for PBR Maryland was a tremendous success. 57 talented players came to the Diamond Pros facility in Glen Arm, MD and overcame the weather to show off their ability. Today we talk about eight players that introduced themselves in a big way to PBR Maryland at the Maryland Preseason ID.

Ryan Brown, OF St. James
Brown ran a 6.80 60 with 86 mph exit velocity. Showed a strong arm and good athletic ability.  A little jumpy at the plate, the 2016 had a nice short swing. 

Grant Burleson, LHP Parkside
The 2017 came in and displayed great arm speed sitting 84-86 with more in the tank. Burleson showed good feel for his off-speed pitches and made a strong case for himself in the 2017 rankings.

Austin Elliot, RHP/OF Cape Henlopen (DE)
The 2018 did very well during his workout as a position player, but might have made the biggest splash when stepping on the mound. The 6-foot 170-pound Elliot topped out at 84 with good arm speed and a foundation to grow upon.

Matt Glady, RHP Severna Park
A very short and quick arm where the ball sneaks up on you.  The 2017 has a nice frame with room to fill out. Topped out at 83 mph and should project very well. 

Nathaniel Lowe, OF/MIF Cambridge South Dorchester
Lowe ran the fastest 60 yard dash at the Preseason ID with a 6.73.  He also tied to highest exit velocity with 88 mph. There was potential power in the swing from the 2016 OF.

John Palin, 3B Riverdale Baptist
With an exit velocity of 88 mph and good quick hands, Palin made a case for himself during the event. The strong 2016 3B had more than a few balls jump off his bat and had a quality arm from the outfield. 

Michael Richardson, SS Cambridge South Dorchester
The young infielder had a very nice workout showing off 82 mph infield velocity with good feet and good exchange. A 2016, Richardson ran a 6.88 60 yard dash with 84 mph exit velocity.

Elliot Zoellner, RHP St. Mary’s
Zoellner came into the event working on his third bullpen. Being the first time PBR Maryland has got to see the right-handed pitcher, he showed why he could be one of the top uncommitted players in the 2016 class. Zoellner topped out at 88mph with a sharp breaking ball.
