Scouting Report

MD Top Prospect Games 6/20/17

Hancock is an athletically built catcher/infielder who hits from the right side of the plate. He has a simple, slightly over set up with the bat resting on shoulder. He coils back into his hip and gets to strong hitting position before launching the barrel. His bat works deep and continues on a level path through the zone. He has some bat speed and ability to consistently find the barrel. Exit velo of 88 mph. In the infield, he has efficient footwork to go along with good hands. He secures the ball well with a strong transfer and consistently made accurate throws. Infield velo of 85 mph. Behind the plate, he received the ball with minimal movement. He has good footwork that compliments a tremendously quick transfer and strong arm. Pop time as low as 1.87 and averaged in the 1.9's with 78 mph velo.

11.1.15 - Athletic, lean frame with room to fill out at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Smooth rhythm in load with slight knee turn and short stride. Short path to the ball with some bat speed. Nice rhythm throughout swing and balance. Gets lower half involved. Exit velocity of 85 mph. Sound actions from the corner with active feet. Funnels ball through exchange with short arm action. 82 mph infield velocity. Quiet receiver from balanced set up. Quick exchange and good feet throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Short arm action and throws got up to 74 mph. Pop time as low as 1.94.

8.11.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot11, 150-pounds. Hits from a balance set up. Has a smooth load with a short stride to balance. Has a level bat path with quick bats speed and shows some extension through contact.  Get lower half involved and maintains good balance throughout his swing. Exit velocity of 84 mph. Displays body control behind the plate. Quick feet and quick clean exchange on throws down to second. Has a short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 74 mph.  Pop times got as low as 1.97 and ranged up to 2.08. Ran a 7.60 6-yard dash.






Scouting Report

Matsko is an athletic infield prospect for Dulaney HS and with the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox this summer. He has lean athletic frame with room to grow. Hitting froma slgihtly open set up to arm bar load. Has a llevel swing path with nice rhythm throughout and a barrel that stays in the zone. Can pepper the gaps. Moves well in the infield with some athleticism and active feet. Clean exchange with a shorter quick arm. Matsko is a recent Georgetown commit.
