Thomas Espinosa and Todd Murphy the starting pitchers for the Charles H. Flowers Jaguars and the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders respectively combined to hold the two offenses to three hits combined. Espinosa held the Raiders offense hitless until the sixth inning. The Raiders would have an early scoring chance in the first inning when they had first and third with two outs but could not score.
The Jaguars would have a chance to score in the first when Tremayne Cobb Jr (Hartford) singled and stole second and third. Murphy would induce a fly ball to right to work out of the inning. The second started off much the same for the Jaguars when Espinosa helped himself out with a walk, Brandon Bradshaw walked but were left on base when Murphy retired the next three hitters to work out of the jam.The lone run of the game would come in the third from the top of the Flowers order. Anthony Robinson Jr doubled and advance on a ground out to shortstop with one out. Cobb would strike again with a sacrifice fly to drive in the only run of the game.
Roosevelt had one last chance to tie the game or take the lead in the sixth when Derrick Ohringer singled for the only hit of the game for the Raiders and was followed by a Charlie Butler walk. Espinosa once again worked out of the jam.Cobb Jr. would start the seventh inning for the Jaguars and close it out to preserve the Jaguar victory.
