The Commitment Corner spotlights those Maryland high school student-athletes who have made their decision on where to play their college baseball. This is a unique opportunity to get to know several of the states top talent and gain insight into their recruitment process and ultimately what made them choose the school they did.  Today we speak with: Justin Looney

PBR MD:  Why did you choose Longwood?

• I felt Longwood was the best fit for me both academically and athletically.

PBR MD:  What do you plan to major in at Longwood?

• Kinesiology and Athletic Training

PBR MD:  What are some of your goals you would like to achieve at Longwood?

• Successfully complete a double major. Continue to improve and help win a Conference Championship for the school.

PBR MD:  What are your plans this summer to get ready for school?

• Play summer baseball with the Richmond Braves and compete in high-level tournaments.

PBR MD:  Are you playing summer baseball? If yes, who are you planning to play for?

• Yes, Richmond Braves

PBR MD:  What other schools recruited you?

• Virginia Tech, James Madison, Old Dominion

PBR MD:  What was your favorite part about the recruiting process?

• The excitement it brought to games knowing that scouts were watching me.
