The Commitment Corner spotlights those Maryland high school student-athletes who have made their decision on where to play their college baseball. This is a unique opportunity to get to know several of the states top talent and gain insight into their recruitment process and ultimately what made them choose the school they did.  Today we speak with: Alex Greene

COMMITMENT: UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

PBR MD:  List any awards / accolades you received in high school.

  • Dean’s List, WCAC 1st Team All-Conference

PBR MD:  Why did you choose Virginia?

  • I chose UVA because I think its the best opportunity for me to get an outstanding education and play baseball at the highest collegiate level. I also felt at home in Charlottesville and with the coaching staff.

PBR MD:  What do you plan to major in at Virginia?

  • Business

PBR MD:  What are some of your goals you would like to achieve at Virgina?

  • Win the National Championship, get a degree, and get ready for professional baseball.

PBR MD:  What are your plans this summer to get ready for school?

  • My plans are to get better everyday and continue to learn more and more.

PBR MD:  Are you playing summer baseball? If yes, who are you planning to play for?

  • Yes, Richmond Braves

PBR MD:  What other schools recruited you?

  • Maryland, North Carolina, East Carolina, Penn State

PBR MD:  What was your favorite part about the recruiting process?

  • Visiting different schools and seeing how they differ from one another. Also, seeing what it’s like to a be a baseball player at those schools and then of course for me, choosing without a doubt in my mind UVA.
