Season Outlook
McDonogh will be fielding a young roster this 2016 season after having an experienced laden roster last season. Even though the Eagles will be young, they do return a strong core that should be key contributors on the mound. Leading the way will be 2017 RHP Miles Matanguihan along with 2016???s Alex Parker and Jordan Rhodes. Parker, a Towson commit, is a relatively raw pitcher on the mound with limited experience and a high ceiling. Rhodes also shows a strong arm and durable frame. As the three develop, they could potentially have one of the deeper pitching rotations in the MIAA. Keep an eye on Andrew Golden and Adam Rosenstein to also contribute on the mound.
The Eagle offense will be led by Paul DiPino, who is coming off a very nice season in 2015. He will make the move to shortstop after playing primarily at second last season and will solidify the middle of the field and be a stable bat in the lineup. Parker has been known as a stellar backstop for the Eagles and will help add to the Eagle order along with Rhodes at first base. With Parker expected to get more time on the mound, look for Ryan Rogan to contribute behind the plate for the Eagles. Inf Will Margraff will also spend time in the middle for McDonogh and is another new player to watch. McDonogh is ready to improve upon their 2015 campaign. Look for Matanguihan, Parker, and Rhodes to keep the team in games on the mound this season as the Eagles could be one to watch in the MIAA ???A???.
