Season Outlook
Archbishop Curley is looking to improve upon their 2015 campaign where they finished sixth in the conference and lost out in the first round of the MIAA A playoffs.  The Friars should have a deep lineup on the offensive end this year led by Mount St. Mary???s recruit Damond Nixon. Nixon hit .286 last year with one homerun and has made big strides since last season and look for a big year from the talented infielder. Nixon is physical switch hitter with power potential from both sides on the plate. Luke Nakich returns to the lineup after a strong .368 season hitting from the leadoff spot last year and should again set up the top of the order. Junior shortstop Zeke Maldonado is talented young middle infielder for the Friars that hit .357 as a sophomore and should solidify the middle this year along with returning sophomore Trent Gast-Woodard at catcher. Nick Brown will also provide another bat in the order and keep an eye out for freshman Tyler Locklear, whom the coaching staff is very high on and could be a breakout player this season.

On the mound the Friars will be young after the graduation of Jordan Menfee and AJ Korczynski. Senior Kyle Ridgley, a Pitt Greensburg recruit, looks to improve upon last season coming out of the pen and add experience to the pitching staff. The Friars will be looking at four sophomores to lead the way in the rotation. Nick Brown and Paul Nixon are returners from varsity that will see an increase in innings for the Friars while Jeff Calderon and Nick Richardson move up to varsity after leading the JV staff from last season.  Keep an eye out for all of the sophomore talent on the Friars staff as they will play a large role in the success of the Curley season.
