Top Uncommitted Underclass Power Potential Prospects

Craig Corliss, C, Worcester Academy (MA), 2017
Ranked:
13th in Class of 2017
Scouting Report: Right-handed hitting catcher, who again impressed at a PBR event. Extremely advanced as a defender, not just in the physical part of catching. He really has a feel for calling pitches and handling pitchers. I haven’t seen many catchers, in my 20 years of recruiting, who have the feel for that. It’s a lost art. The receiving is soft and the throwing is simple. Threw 73 from back there with good feet and a simple path. The pop time was 1.9.  At the plate, he sets up slightly wide with a controlled bottom half and he gets the ball to the ball. All his balls are back spun and he shows a good feel for the pull side of the field. His next step is to spread the field and become a real dangerous offensive player. He is a legit prospect for me.
