Henry Fleckner SS / 2B / Xaverian Brothers, MA / 2021Rankings StateRank: 168 / POS: 38
WESTON, Ma. - Henry Fleckner admits he has a passion for sports. “It’s bugging me a lot, I love to watch sports,” Fleckner said of the current world we live in without sports available to play or see. “I’ve been pulling up YouTube highlights remembering old playoff games.” That love for anything in the athletic field has the Xaverian Brothers junior excited about a future in baseball at the next level. “I’ve wanted to play college baseball my whole life,” the 24th-ranked uncommitted 2021 shortstop in New England related. “My dad said when I was younger that he saw something great in me. I love the game and really have a passion for it. College baseball has always been a huge goal of mine.” The dream started to turn into reality once in high school. “I did a prospect camp at Boston College the winter of ninth grade,” Fleckner reflected. “I had a good day there. I’m like, I can really do this. I thanked the coaches and it clicked in my head, if Boston College likes me a little I’ve got a good shot at this.” Holy Cross and Tufts are the top two schools currently talking with the 168th-rated junior in New England. “With Holy Cross, I did a couple prospect camps,” noted Fleckner, whose only visit was to Tufts. “After the last prospect camp I reached out and have been texting with the recruiting coordinator. He wanted to know things about my schooling like GPA and we left it at that. My SAT was cancelled.” A defensive standout, Fleckner has put a focus into improving another key area of his game. |
