Massachusetts’ Bridgewater-Raynham HS has enjoyed some success recently, capturing a state title in 2013 and finishing third in the Super 8 in 2014. With nearly an entire pitching staff returning, the Trojans are looking to make noise again in 2015.
“I think we'll still be in the mix, in consideration for the Super 8,” head coach John Kearney said. “We’re counting heavily on (Jack) Connolly, (Andrew) Noviello. They’ve been on varsity since their freshman year.”
In Massachusetts, the state association determines eight teams that are considered the best in the state and have them compete in a tournament separate from the typical postseason that is divided up by classifications. With Connolly and Noviello—both primarily right-handers—being two of the top players in the state and committed to Division I programs, Bridgewater-Raynham has a chance to be in that group again. Pitching will be the team’s strength and the two seniors will be expected to be leaders on the field.
