Uncommitted Spring Follows: Louisiana 2025 Class

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

The 2024 fall season was another busy time of the year for the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff.  We ran five events in total, which included three Open ID events, our annual Uncommitted Senior Games event, and our invite-only State Games event.  Now that the fall has ended, we are getting prepared for what is going to be an exciting spring season, which will kick-off with our three Preseason ID events that are now live on our website.  Today, we wanted to provide a look at a group of uncommitted prospects in the state's 2025 class to keep an eye on, as we head into the spring.  The 2025 class in Louisiana has turned out to be one of the deeper classes in recent memory, as there are still quite a few talented prospects who are still on the board.

UNCOMMITTED SPRING FOLLOWS (2025 CLASS)

+ 2025 RHP Karson Trichel (Ouachita Christian HS)

Trichel has been one of the most successful pitchers in the state of Louisiana, since he stepped foot on campus as a freshman, as he Ouachita Christian on the mound to back-to-back state titles as a freshman and sophomore in 2022 and 2023.  Last spring, he went 8-1 for the Eagles and after getting upset in the quarterfinals by Glenbrook, we fully expect him and his Eagle teammates to play with their hair on fire in 2025.  The uncommitted right-hander features an upper-80's heater with feel for both of his secondary offerings.

+ 2025 C Dylan Champagne (Dutchtown HS)

A member of our Senior Future Games team this summer, Champagne is one of the top uncommitted backstops left on the board in the state's 2025 class.  The Dutchtown product has a simple stroke from the left-side and can hit the ball to all fields with a max exit velocity of 92.1 mph.  He's also been up to 77 mph from the crouch with a 1.91-2.04 pop time.

+ 2025 MIF Mason Hickman (Mandeville HS)

Hickman was one of the standout performers for a Skippers team last spring that made it all the way to the quarterfinals.  The 5'8" 150 lbs. left-handed hitter hit at a .420 clip with 2 HR, 14 2B, 4 3B, 37 R, and 26 SB, and he performed well this fall at both our Uncommitted Senior Games and State Games.

+ 2025 OF Chase Harris (Catholic BR HS)

6'0" 160 lbs. lean and wiry frame with a ton of room to add strength.  Harris was another member of our Senior Future Games team this summer, and is a guy who continues to get better and better each time out.  The Catholic BR product is one of the better runners in his class, as he posted a 6.48 laser-timed 60 this past summer.  That speed plays in-game as well, whether it's on the basepaths, in the outfield, or in the box.

The South Terrebonne product owns one of the better overall tool-sets in the state's 2025 class and offers upside as a potential two-way player at the next level.  Clement's best tool is his big arm, as we've had him up to 89 mph across the infield this past summer and up to 93 mph from the outfield.  A right-handed hitter, he also displays present bat speed using quick hands (23.0 mph avg. hand speed) to deliver a heavy barrel to contact with a gap-to-gap approach.  On the mound, he owns a mid-upper 80's FB with feel for a sharp mid-upper 70's SL.
