Uncommitted Fall Follows: Louisiana 2025 Class

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

The 2024 summer season was without a doubt the busiest and most successful summer that we've had in the state of Louisiana.  We ran ten events in total, which included four Open ID events, three Scout Days, two Rising Stars ID events, and our invite-only Top Prospect Games, which allowed us to evaluate over 400 players during that time frame.  Now that summer has ended, we are getting prepared for what is going to be an exciting fall season with three Open ID events, our Uncommitted Senior Games, and our biggest invite-only event of the year with our Louisiana State Games.  Today, we wanted to provide a look at a group of uncommitted prospects in the state's 2025 class to keep an eye on, as the fall season begins.  The 2025 class in Louisiana has turned out to be one of the deeper classes in recent memory, as there are still quite a few talented prospects who are still on the board, and most of the prospects below will be at our Uncommitted Senior Games on September 7, 2024 at Southeastern Louisiana University.

UNCOMMITTED FALL FOLLOWS (2025 CLASS)

+ 2025 MIF Rowen Bergeron (Opelousas Catholic HS)

6'1" 190 lbs. athletic build with present physicality.  Bergeron hit in the heart of the order last spring on a Vikings team that won the LHSAA Select D-IV State Title.  He's got a good blend of power and speed, as he's a 6.91 runner in the 60 and produces exit velocities up to 101.1 mph.  The Opelousas Catholic product is also pretty versatile defensively, as he can play all three infield spots, and could probably track down balls in the outfield if need be.

+ 2025 C Dylan Champagne (Dutchtown HS)

A member of our Senior Future Games team this summer, Champagne is one of the top uncommitted backstops left on the board in the state's 2025 class.  The Dutchtown product has a simple stroke from the left-side and can hit the ball to all fields with a max exit velocity of 92.1 mph.  He's also been up to 77 mph from the crouch with a 1.91-2.04 pop time.

+ 2025 MIF Jackson Beddoe (Sulphur HS)

The Sulphur product is a former Future Gamer and was also a member of our Senior Future Games team this past summer.  Beddoe packs a punch in a 5'9" 180 lbs. frame, as he's a really good runner (6.50 laser-timed 60) and can drive the ball from gap-to-gap with exit velocities up to 97.1 mph.  He also offers upside and intrigue on the mound, as we've had him up to 91 mph with his FB.

+ 2025 LHP Kade Bryant (Benton HS)

Bryant was an All-State selection last spring, after going 9-1 with a 1.15 ERA and 92 K's for the state semifinalist Tigers.  The Benton product owns a low to mid-80's FB with classic left-handed sink & run, and can land both his breaking ball and changeup for strikes in any count.  He's one of many uncommitted 2025 prospects that we're excited to see at our Uncommitted Senior Games on 09/07/24 at Southeastern Louisiana.

+ 2025 RHP Tanner Webb (Benton HS)

Physical 6'3" 235 lbs. durable frame.  Webb is another guy who was a member of our Senior Future Games team this past summer, after a successful spring with the Tigers.  He sports a FB up to 88 mph with an average spin rate of 2366 RPM's, and he also has feel for both a CB & SL in the 2500-2600 RPM range, as well as a firmer low-80's CH.

+ 2025 OF Jake Simmons (Ruston HS)

The Ruston product is one of, if not the best bat left available in the state's 2025 class.  Simmons had a big spring for the Bearcats and carried that momentum over into the summer, as he finished with a .379 AVG for the Knights Knation 17U National group with 5 HR, 6 2B, 2 3B, 16 RBI, and 25 R across 93 PA's.

+ 2025 MIF Mason Hickman (Mandeville HS)

Hickman was one of the standout performers for a Skippers team last spring that made it all the way to the quarterfinals.  The 5'8" 150 lbs. left-handed hitter hit at a .420 clip with 2 HR, 14 2B, 4 3B, 37 R, and 26 SB.  You can catch him at our State Games event this fall on 09/28-09/29 at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

+ 2025 OF Chase Harris (Catholic BR HS)

6'0" 160 lbs. lean and wiry frame with a ton of room to add strength.  Harris was another member of our Senior Future Games team this summer, and is a guy who continues to get better and better each time out.  The Catholic BR product is one of the better runners in his class, as he posted a 6.48 laser-timed 60 this past summer.  That speed plays in-game as well, whether it's on the basepaths, in the outfield, or in the box.

+ 2025 OF Braylin Harris (Opelousas Catholic HS)

The Opelousas Catholic product was a steady producer for the Vikings last spring, and should be a big part of their offense next season, as they look to win back-to-back State Titles.  The 5'9" 180 lbs. left-handed hitter has a simple stroke with a flat path and extension to match, working line drives/hard groundballs to all fields.  Harris has really good barrel awareness and bat-to-ball skills, which makes him a tough out every at-bat.

+ 2025 MIF Ryder Planchard (Holy Cross HS)

Planchard had a really good showing at our Senior Future Games this past summer and will look to carry that momentum into the fall season.  The Holy Cross product is a really good defender with smooth actions, soft hands, and a solid glove-to-hand transfer.  He has also continued to improve his metrics over the last year, as he posted a personal-bests in the 60 (6.82 laser-timed) and max exit velocity (94.5 mph) this summer.  He'll be at our Uncommitted Senior Games on 09/07/24 at Southeastern Louisiana and our State Games on 09/28-09/29 at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
