Quick Hits: North Louisiana Fall ID
September 3, 2024
Ruston, LA - On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to Louisiana Tech, to host our first event of the fall with our North Louisiana Fall ID. Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, defensive evaluations, batting practice using Trackman Baseball and Blast Motion, and the pitchers finished the event off by throwing bullpens with Trackman Baseball. Below, we take a look at some of the standout performers from Sunday.

+ 2025 RHP Garrett Frye (West Monroe HS)
6'0" 180 lbs. athletic frame. Frye returns for his senior campaign as part of a talented Rebels pitching staff that will look to repeat as State Champions this coming spring. The West Monroe product is a smooth mover down the mound with a clean arm path. He showed both a four-seam and two-seam FB on Sunday in the 84-87 mph range with ride & run through the zone. Frye also showed the ability to kill spin with a 78-79 mph SPLT and landed a 77-78 mph SL for strikes. College programs looking to add an arm in the 2025 class should give Frye a look.

Here’s a look at a good @PBR_Uncommitted senior arm for the Rebels. Clean delivery with feel for all 4️⃣ pitches. Kills spin with the SPLT. #BeSeen

+ 2026 RHP/INF Spencer Guilbeau (Vandebilt Catholic HS)
5'11" 180 lbs. frame with a physical lower-half. The Vandebilt Catholic product was one of the two-way standouts from Sunday's event. In the box, he keeps a tight turn on-plane to contact with present bat speed and strength that produced an event-best 93.1 mph max exit velocity. Guilbeau also showed well on the mound with a 85-86 mph FB, but it was his feel for spin that really stood out, as he flashed both a low-mid 70's CB & SL with spin rates in the 2400 RPM range. He's a good name to circle in the state's 2026 class.

+ 2026 OF Jackson Lee (Ruston HS)
We liked our in-game looks at the Ruston product over the summer, so it was no surprise that he had a good showing at Sunday's event. Lee was one of the better all-around athletes at the event, as he posted a 6.82 laser-timed 60 and 84 mph outfield velocity, both of which were good for best on Sunday. He was on the barrel often during batting practice, working short to long with a gap to gap approach, that resulted in a 92.4 mph max exit velocity.
