The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Player of the Week highlights the best performance for a Louisiana high school player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

Cousin has been arguably the best two-way prospect in the entire state this season, and in Week 7, he continued to perform at a high level.  The Oklahoma recruit led the Tigers to a 6-0 victory last Monday against Ponchatoula, after tossing a complete-game shutout, giving up only 2 H with 4 BB and 11 K's.  He then turned around on Saturday and tossed another complete-game one hit shutout with 3 BB and 10 K's to lead Slidell to a 2-0 win over Northshore.  At the plate, he was just as impressive last week, as he went 8-12 (.667) with a HR, 2 2B, 7 RBI, and 5 R.
