Prep Baseball Louisiana: Mizuno Pitcher of the Week (Week 3)
March 12, 2024
The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Pitcher of the Week highlights the best individual pitching performance for a Louisiana high school player from the previous week. Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week. If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]
While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

Parkway has slowly been creeping up our Power 25 Rankings and currently sit at #6 with Smith being a reason for the Panthers success so far this spring. The Jones College recruit got the start last Saturday against Central BR, and faced off against the state's top southpaw in senior Grayden Harris. The Panthers needed a big-time outing from Smith, and that's exactly what he delivered. The 6'3" right-handed hurler took a no-hitter into the bottom of the 7th inning with 2 outs, before his no-hit bid was spoiled on a 3-2 single. While the potential no-hitter would've been awesomne, Smith still turned in a brilliant outing for Parkway, as he finished tossing a complete game one-hit shutout with 3 BB and 10 K's, to improve his season record to 4-0.
