PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA POWER 25 RANKINGS (WEEK 6)
The Louisiana high school baseball season kicked off on Monday February 19, 2024 with regular season action beginning under LHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2024 spring season, touching on programs spanning all classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Louisiana Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Since Opening Day, our scouts have been out and about covering the 2024 season and will be publishing scout blogs and additional in-season content, such as our Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, Scout Blogs, Diamond Notes, and more.

The Top 5
The Top 5 teams remain the same for the first time this season with only one minor change in the order from last week. Catholic BR is still our #1 team, for the sixth consecutive week, after going 2-1 last week. The Bears beat H.L. Bourgeois on Tuesday and split a two-game series with Mandeville. Sam Houston checks in at #2, after going 3-0 last week. The Broncos beat Carencro twice and then defeated Vandebilt Catholic on Saturday. Natchitoches Central remains at the #3 spot in our Power 25 Rankings. The Chiefs went 2-1 last week, splitting their district series with Parkway, before beating Haughton on Saturday by a score of 3-2. Barbe moves up one spot this week to #4, after a perfect 4-0 week, bringing their overall record to 19-5. The Bucs swept two district opponents in Southside and Comeaux, outscoring the Sharks and Spartans by a combined 53 to 3, over the course of the four games. West Monroe moves back one spot to #5 in this week's update. The Rebels lost last Monday to Neville by one run, and then defeated Byrd and West Ouachita.
Risers
+ Chalmette makes their Top-10 debut at #8, after entering into the Power 25 Rankings for the first time last week. The Owls have won their last seven games to move their season record to 17-2.
+ Captain Shreve makes the biggest jump this week, as they move up fourteen spots to #11. The Gators went 3-1 last week with a big district sweep of Benton and an impressive 10-0 win over Parkway on Saturday.
+ Opelousas Catholic makes their Power 25 Rankings debut this week at #20 overall. The Vikings are 15-4 overall and have won their last seven straight with wins last week over Acadiana, Dunham, and Notre Dame.
