PBR Louisiana State Rankings Update: 2026 Class (February 2024)
February 15, 2024
The winter season has come to an end for high school baseball prospects across the country, which means it's time for the spring high school season to kick-off and it means it's time for an update to our state rankings. We spent the winter evaluating prospects at our events, and we also kept close tabs on their performances for their resepective high school programs. This update for the 2026 class is a modest one, especially at the top, as the Top-10 remains unchanged. We've expanded the list to 130 prospects and although there wasn't a lot of movement at the top, there was still plenty of risers in the entire group. Below, we give a snapshot of the Top 10 and we also highlight a few players who increased their stock coming out of the winter break.

RISERS & NEWCOMERS
+ 2026 SS Ja'Derryian Washington (Barbe HS)
6'2" 160 lbs. frame with a ton of projection. The Barbe caught our eye in our December look at him during a couple of intersquad games, and has drawn rave reviews from the Bucs coaching staff. On the infield, Washington is impressive, thanks to soft hands, crisp actions, and clean exchanges. He's a fluid mover who can cover a lot of ground and should see time at all three infield spots this spring for the Bucs. Offensively, Washington had a really good fall/winter season and has put himself in a great position to be an opening day starter, which is why he moves to #11 overall in this update and a jump into the Top-10 seems very likely.
+ 2026 OF Braden Sanders (Zachary HS)
Sanders jumped onto our radar at last month's Baton Rouge Preseason ID and is a prospect that we'll be monitoring closely this spring. He's a really good athlete with a projectable 6'5" 190 lbs. frame that resembles a wide receiver. The Zachary product is a good runner, as he posted a 6.86 laser-timed 60. At the plate, the swing is still a little raw, but his outputs are loud, especially to the pull-side with exit velocities up to 91 mph. His defense, specifically his arm, needs to improve, and if it does, then you're looking at a really well-rounded prospect in the state's 2026 class.
+ 2026 OF Gavin Palmisano (Jesuit HS)
Physical 6'1" 195 lbs. frame. The Blue Jays consistently put out high-level talent, year in and year out, and Palmisano has the looks of being one of those guys. Palmisano is a good runner, especially for his size, as he posted a 7.05 laser-timed 60 at last month's New Orleans Preseason ID. Offensively, however, is where he really stood out, as he drove balls from the middle of the field to the pull-side with exit velocities up to 96.5 mph. He moves up to #35 overall in the state in this update.
+ 2026 MIF Cooper Todd (Mandeville HS)
Todd attended the Knights Knation Showkase in January and turned in a really good overall day. He's a quality defender on the infield with athletic footwork and solid actions, but it was his offense that really stood out to us. The left-handed hitter works from a slightly open and upright stance, and sinks into his back hip during a smooth and simple load and stride. Todd keeps a tight/compact turn working short to long with strength, as he drove several balls to the pull-side. The Mandeville product checks in at #39 overall in this update.

Really good round of BP from the @PBR_Uncommitted sophomore. Keeps a tight/compact turn working short to long with pull-side strength. Took a clean INF round as well. #BeSeen@prepbaseball | @AlexArmandPBR | @knightknation4L pic.twitter.com/RwfSTD3TAP
